I recently picked up a ride on mower that had been sitting for a couple years and wouldn't start. After trying several places and getting nowhere, Sarah at Wilburs said to bring it in anytime. When I arrived I spoke with Michelle, who took down my info etc and said I would hear from them in a day or two, which I did. Stan called to discuss what he had found along with making a couple suggestions on things I might want to do. He did not try to upsell me, he was just telling me what's what - which I appreciated. In the end the job was completed quickly and at a very fair price. Sarah, Michelle and Stan all communicated clearly with me, were pleasant to deal with and I will absolutely continue business with this shop. Something else cool about this place it is a 3rd generation family business - something I always enjoy seeing and supporting. Thank you to everyone at Wilbur's. Art Fleck

I delt with Wilber back in 1979 and early 80's. Wilber was great to know and do business with. He passed on and I have had to get some small tractor tires there. I had them install one and took the other home. I went in without my tire and told Wilbers daughter I was going to bring in my tire that I had purchased several years earlier. It had something sitting on it and was out of round. I did not notice the price tag on it. I told the repair man I was going to bring it in and that it would be hard to inflate. He said ok I went out and got it and walked it down the side of the building to the back. The next day I I went to pick it up and they were charging me for the tire. I reminded them I came in before fore to let them know I wanted the other tire mounted. Wilbers daughter was rude and said next time bring a receipt. I have had another dealing with them where they were over charging me and were rude. They are over price and I can get anything on the internet for mush less than they are asking. Wilber was great. I don't know where his son went. I might have gone to Havasu with some of the other young people from Mentone that went there and started great businesses. Wilbers wife is not much better. I hate to say bad things about the business but there are places that do just as good of a job for less money and I don't get treated rudely. I can repair anything and now have a huge 175 psi compressor and can inflate tires with no problem. Wilber was great. Pox on his family.

I've lived in Mentone for 8 years now. And everytime I come to this store I'm greeted with cold stares,and feel very unwelcome. Im a homeowner just across in a nearby community, so Wilbur's is convenient. I'm not going to be discouraged but will continue to shop at this store. Perhaps some day they will learn to show some love to it's customers.

Lady at the front desk just seems like she hates her job and has the poorest customer service. When Asked her for a certain product she just stated if I don’t see the product around the store then we’ll she doesn’t know how to help me. She never even looked at me when talking out loud to me. I just left…

The woman at the front desk is one of thee RUDEST people I have ever talk too. Customer service is definitely not her department. She was not only rude over the phone to me but as well to my fiancé when picking up our equipment.

I have taken a couple of items here for service. The first time, my saw ran worse than when I took it in. I took it back, only to be told it ran fine. I then took it to ACE, where it was fixed in a couple of days and has ran like a top. I tried to give Wilburs my business again, and the same thing happened, $160 and a new carb later, the items bogged down at full throttle, and eventually died. Took it back, only to be told once again that they ran just fine. Tried running them at home and the same issue reared up. I even showed them video of the machines running terribly after their work (the first time), and still there is “nothing wrong with them.” I will be giving ACE my business from here on out.

I chased all over SoCal for parts and information on a Onan RV generator. Most places hadnt a clue--just sent me elsewhere. I went here-- some young teenage girl-- knew exactly what l needed and where to get it. She sent me to a Cummins truck dealer. They overnighted my parts at a reasonable price. Its off Riverside dr. in Fontana? 2 great places!!

Wilburs is a great place to get high end gardening power equipment. They only sell the best brands which means the cost is higher than the Home stores, but is the best quality. They also service and repair what they sell, another great plus. I can highly recommend them and what they sell.

I bought a Stihl chainsaw there 2 years ago, and take it in 2 weeks ago due to it not wanting to start. As soon as I brought it back, I told them that wasn't happy about it because it just didn't want to start and I needed to have it working soon. The young lady in the repair shop told me that I could just leave it there with them to keep, or they could look at it and charge me $30. The chainsaw was $400 originally and I've only used it a couple times and always used the right gas and oil mix as I had always bought the Stihl premix, and always oiled the bar, so there shouldn't have been any major problems with it. They called me almost two weeks later to tell me that the piston and cylinder was burned up and that it wouldn't be worth repairing because it would cost $400 to repair it, and even if it was still under warranty, that would not have been covered. I didn't want to leave it with them because I figured they would just fix it easily and turn around and sell it themselves. She told me that I could come pick it up and they could show me what they meant about it. I went in to get it, paid the $30, and nobody showed me anyting on the chainsaw at all about it being burned up. On another occasion, I took it in to have the chain sharpened, and had used it right away after that, but could not tell much of a difference in the chain after about 20 minutes. Nothing makes sense about why the saw is not working to me now since I used exactly the right oil and gas mixture every time with buying the premix. There are many other places around with better service who are probably more honest as well, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

I want to like Wilbur's. I like doing business locally and I am willing to pay a little bit more to support a small business. Twice I have purchased Echo power tools at Wilbur's and both times I felt like I was inconveniencing the front desk staff. A few weeks ago I went in ready to buy two new tools. I was completely ignored. When I asked a question I got an answer that seemed condescending. I ended up buying the tools at Home Depot. I have never used Wilbur's for repairs. Maybe the repairs experience is better.
