Akamai, meaning ‘smart’ or ‘clever,’ really hit the mark with us as we don’t tend to eat breakfast - so this was a perfect break to our fast! An extensive juice menu, using only the freshest local and organic ingredients on Kauai such as Wooten Produce (@nandiwooten) and Kauai island honey, Akamai offers cleanses as well as body-friendly 100% organically raised Kauai fruits and vegetables. The woman behind these delicious juices is Cas Schwabe, who is a true believer in the power of juicing - this multi talented owner and operator has worked in film and music, owned retail stores and came to Kauai due to her love of flying helicopters. (Which consequently I did a couple days prior). Definitely come here for a taste of Kauai! Featured: The signature MAGIC DRAGON with aloe, avocado, basil, box choy, cilantro, collard greens, cucumber, dandelion greens, raw honey, kale, rainbow chard, lemon, lime, Nioi chili, parsley, fresh island pineapple, romaine, spinach and turmeric. All fresh! This little spot is clearly putting fresh everything in their smoothies/drinks. You pay based on the size so ranging from $8(8oz) to $11(20 oz) hidden gem in my opinion. I got the magic dragon and Jurassic protein. The magic dragon has chili in it so it has spice but it’s healthy! The Jurassic protein is milky and delicious.

So tasty, refreshing and nourishing. The staff was so kind and helpful. They gave me a taste of each drink I wanted to buy before choosing. The magic dragon was SO good. Go in the morning when they first open before they sell out!

Probably the best juice I’ve ever had in my life. Got a large size and drank it so fast because I couldn’t stop. Don’t even think twice about going. The owner is so nice too and allowed us to sample them!! Love this place and will be going back :)

This is THE juice bar in Hawaii, on the north side of Kauai! Specifically….Hanalei. Meet the owner “mamma Cass” as she mixes up healthy concoctions of smoothies and coffees and “immunity shots”. Great place to go to for “the morning after the night before”, if you know what I mean! VictorB

This was one of our first stops in Kauai- the owner was unbelievably welcoming and made sure we tried some of their greatest hits before we placed our order. We just got home and already are planning to go back for more- the chai was particularly good, as were both the special juices. Can't go wrong here- probably the best juice I've ever had!

This is one of my highlights when on the island of Kauai...Akamai juice is one of the highlights of my life. No joke. Akamai is a treasure of the island and getting to start my days with these beautiful humans and their insanely delicious and nutritious liquid gold. It’s the best!!! I cannot wait to return to their juice window and basque in the glow of their smoothies, tonics, juices, slushees, coffees, and smoothies...made with the local produce of the island’s north shore. Makes me feel at home. I always buy her mason jars to bring home with me so I can have them here as a daily reminder of the joy I feel when walking on North Shore beaches with an Akamai juice in hand. Friendly and helpful staff. Fruit and produce is fresh and flavorful. The "Nurse Betty" was so tasty and uplifting. You won't find this on the mainland. Definitely a regular stop on my visits to Hanalei. Can't beat the vibe and views.
