Honestly every time I come to this Ulta I really dislike how dismissive some of the employees can be. I shop here because it’s conveniently close by to my home but I’d rather make the drive to the Northbrook location since the staff there is much nicer.

The products are fine. However, when i went to checkout, my sales person and her manager "insisted," on me giving my phone # and/or email, which i wouldn't do. There is enough internet and phone spamming. They tried to "bribe" me with free samples. Really??? I almost walked out without buying anything. I spent around $60, not an insignificant purchase. I will not shop there but will.shop at Sephora instead. Not a good business practice.

Ashley, in the salon, has been wonderful to work with! She's helping my daughter grow her hair out from a short style. She recently introduced us to the lovely woman at the Benefit Brow counter and she was great too. Everyone that I have come in contact with at the Highland Park Ulta has been very knowledgeable and helpful in find just the right products.

I have worked for Ulta for 4+ years, and have been getting my hair done (various locations) ever since. I’ve always had awesome services, but have never felt compelled to write a review. I got my hair done a couple of weeks ago from Ashley (highland park) and I am OBSESSED- Can’t stop checking myself out when I pass a mirror lol and have received a ton of compliments! It’s really easy to maintain and I actually look forward to styling my hair! You’ve gotta check her out!!

At checkout, I was asked for my phone number. I said I don't give it out. I was told I could not return the item without it. I asked, even if I have a receipt? I was told yes. I followed up with the Ultra Beauty corporate customer service and was told the information I received was incorrect. A receipt was fine. Obviously, they just want to capture your phone number. Bad training. Update: 2 years later and they are still telling people they can't return without providing a phone number at time of purchase. I told the clerk that I contacted Ulta and she said that it's what her Manager said to communicate to customers.

Worst customer service! The cashier Gabi had an attitude with the customer in front of me and then with me, she would show unhappy faces and when I mentioned to the manager she said that it’s ok. I said thank you for your help and the cashier didn’t say anything back! Definitely will never go back to this location!

Went to exchange a lipstick for a different brand that I had bought on sale and called ahead about. When I tried to return it, I was told rudely that they would not accept the return and to go to another store. So I went to the northbrook location, and they accepted my return with no problems whatsoever. Upon returning home, I had discovered that the other lipstick I had bought was completely dried out. I went back to the Highland Park location to return it for convenience. I was treated with extreme disrespect and made to feel like it was my fault I bought a faulty product. This location does not check their product quality for expired makeup, or handle situations professionally. If you need to shop at Ulta, save your time and money and go to the Northbrook location instead.

Ulta reached out and apologized for my previous bad experience which I really appreciated so I have been back a few times since my last incident. The sales associates are mainly all very helpful and sweet. I have had very good experiences the last few visits and have already spent more in the last few visits than I have the whole last year. I will continue to visit this store since it is extremely close to my home and I look forward to hopefully updating to 5 stars.

This is my favorite location. Bigger and better stocked/organized with more brands than the other locations I've been to. The staff here are extremely helpful and friendly. This location has Chanel makeup, which is only at a very select few stores. Ample parking and convenient to the highway. I prefer Ulta to other beauty stores because they have more of the products I need and their rewards points system is structured better than their competition.
