I noticed my daughter was driving on a tire that only had 1 lug nut in place. We were right by Discount Tire in Altoona so I told her to meet me there. It was shortly after 6pm and I noticed on the door it was after business hours. The employees were pulling cars out of bays and wrapping up so they could call it a day. I asked one of the employees (wish I had gotten his name) if he could please assist us and told him the issue. He was very polite and told her to pull her car up to the bay. He located the lug nuts she needs and put them in place, he also took the time to tighten the other lug nuts. All of them were loose - she had taken her car to a competitor a couple weeks earlier to get tires rotated and this is the condition they left it in! My daughter offered to pay and he said not to worry he would take care of it. He was polite, genuinely concerned about us, and then refused payment - what a blessing he was to us! I have had other instances where I was impressed with Discount Tires and this location in general - spreading the word to friends and family but after this incident I want to spread the word to everyone! Discount Tires and specifically the employees are what customer service should be about!

Made an appointment for 4 new tires, went in at 10:00, was on the road by 10:40. From check in to check out, customer service was top notch! I waited in the lobby while my tires were being installed so I got to watch and listen to how they handled the several walk ins that came in. These guys didn't miss a beat, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Discount Tire will always be my first choice when I need tire servicing.

We were driving on the highway on our way to our wedding when our tire popped and was shredded. We immediately called Discount Tires and they could not have been more helpful to us. Within an hour our tires were fixed. Louis was the best. He made our route back to our wedding possible!

Bought new tires and scheduled an appointment all on their website. I was running late and called to ask if they could still fit me in if I showed 10 mins late. They said yes and were true to their word. Service writer, Steve, met me in the parking lot to accept the keys. Waiting room and bathrooms were clean, cool, and spacious. Big window to let me watch the work. 2 techs worked on my van simultaneously, one on each side, and got me out the door in about 30 mins. They wire-wheeled the hubs so the wheels would go back on straight and true. They retorqued the valve stem/TPMS sensors. They hand torqued the lug nuts at the end. They checked the pressure in my spare. They even shined the new tires, something I wouldn't bother with on a minivan but, it speaks to their level of care. All the tools for the job were at the ready. Everything about the shop space demonstrated efficiency. On each side of my van a tech had an impact wrench, a wire wheel designed to work around the lug studs, a tire mount machine, a spin balancer with lift assist so the tech didn't have to bear the full weight of each wheel, and a torque wrench. Tires come with free air up and inspection. I was invited to come back monthly for this service. I was charged $21 to mount and balance each tire, and $2.50 to dispose of each old tire. These amounts were disclosed as line items on the website purchase before I submitted the order. Everything was clear and understandable and there were no hidden charges or deceptive practices at any time during the purchase or installation. They have a road hazard plan for $25.66/tire which I did not purchase. Opting in/out of this was obvious during the checkout process.

I hit something on the interstate and tore two tires while still 5 hours away from home.Steve and crew were very helpful and Steve even drove to two other stores to get the proper tires. He got us on our way in a little over 3 hours. The crew was thorough and polite. Great service!!

Everyone was so kind. They fixed the two tires I had issues with quickly and got me on my way. They also fixed them for free which was a good surprise. I will definitely keep them in mind in the future when I need new tires.

Took my car into have my tires rotated. upon arriving my tpms lights were NOT on. Upon leaving they were on. before i left the kid in the shop said the tpms lights would go off by themselves. So 2 days later they were still on so i took my car back to have them reset. Well what do you know, they said i had a dead sensor in one of my tires, $60 to replace. I told the mngr the sensors were fine when i brought my car in, all he could say is that they dont touch sensors. Again.... car pulled in with no problems.....the car car left their shop with a dead sensor...........what would you think? My family has given ALL our tire business to them over the last 6 plus years................NO MORE!!
