All of the staff were very hospitable, attentive, down to earth. From the lodge to the marina, my whole family felt welcome and really cared for. Rooms were clean and nice. Pool was not too crowded. My kids enjoyed the kiddie pool (had a bit much of the blue paint peeling off the bottom of the pool and floating in the pool with the bugs, but not a deal breaker. My kids enjoyed it). Only 2 drawbacks: 1-The hotel game room needs a make over, everything's (Foosball and pool tables and shuffle board) broken and not working correctly. I've heard great things about the restaurant but due to low staffing since COVID, it's only open on weekends and for reservation only, so I didn't get to experience that. 2- the room keys frequently don't work for the outside rooms. Sometimes it works, someone's it takes a few tries so that's a bit annoying. But I mean really, the way people treated us, I felt like we were at a 5 star resort, so that more than makes up for the cons I mentioned. Hopefully when they're able to get more staff, they'll be able to address the things I noticed. Paddle boats and pontoons were in good condition, worked perfectly, and were affordable. The pretty green lake was void of trash which was beautiful to see with the wonderful scenario of the trees and blue sky. So beautiful! Playgrounds were good, not crowded, grills were great for our needs. Bathroom by playground and gazebos were surprisingly clean and pleasant. Gazebos had plenty of tables. Won't hesitate to return again. Looking forward to it!

Non smoking lodge inside but rooms smell like smoke. Ashtrays and smoking allowed on balconies. Couldn't use ours due to smoke. Restaurant not open Mon Tues or Wed. No microwave or fridge in rooms. Beautiful lodge and scenery. Great pool.

Not a fan of the campground. They have packed the campsites in there like sardines. The sites are extremely unlevel. Won't be staying there again. Looks like they have updated the facilities so that is a plus I guess. They need to remove half the sites and do some major excavation work before I would consider it again.

Small rumble from the sky every so often was enough to keep us from being allowed entrance into the pool. We only wanted to swim for one hour yet each time they heard a rumble they would push the time back 30 more minutes until my nephew had no time left to swim during his birthday party. Kinda lame if you ask me and it looked more like the employees just wanted the pool for themselves.

Not very friendly for tent campers. Area is grouped closely together with a narrow, one lane road to get through. Located in a valley that’s very muddy. Bathrooms/shower house is right across a very steep creek (which isn’t disclosed in pictures) but there’s no bridge so it’s not easily accessible. We had to load up and drive to the bathroom every time we needed to go… with three kids. Saw a small bridge elsewhere that wasn’t even needed at that location so I don’t understand why a bridge for tent campers isn’t there for easy access to the bathroom. Would not stay here again.

Spent a lazy weekend here and greatly enjoyed it. Took a long two-mile hike, enjoyed good food, spent time reading in the library, talked with interesting people etc. The only thing that rankled was that the commode in our lodge guest room broke three times. Maintenance was johnny-on-the-spot but Three Times in four days is nuts. Hopefully, when renovations are done in the future bathroom fixtures will be among the items updated. The scenery is magnificent but the little things matter, too.

Greenbo is a hidden Gem in the middle of rural Kentucky. As a single Dad who travels a lot it’s a place my kids and I have frequented over the years. It’s small but quiet, quaint but efficient. It’s a place that is priced honestly with what it has to offer and is honest about what you should expect. For around the last year we’ve interacted a lot with Michelle who runs the front desk. She knows us by sight and is always very kind and helpful. She takes pride in what she does and it shows. She’s a hidden gem as well and certainly has become a refreshing part of our experience each time that we come.

very nice campground overall. most of the sites are close to the road, but didnt see people driving fast. I have Cricket (AT&T) and we had NO cell service. we had to drive to the entrance of the park to get service. the Wi-Fi would not connect, so dont count on that. the lake is great, we rented a pontoon and had a great time. (first come first serve for the pontoons) the bathrooms were clean. I think they need to update some of the site pictures. Site 61 across from where we were (62) is one of the most uneven slanted sites I have ever seen. people pulled up then they left. 63 is also NOTHING like the pic. you have to back up a steep hill LOL.

Greenbo Lake State Park was clean and well maintained. There are several picnic areas and playground for children. The lake was clean and was a perfect size for small boats and kayaks. The lodge was quaint and made you feel cozy and welcome. I love the rocking chairs on the front porch. There was a very small gift shop inside the lodge. We only did the 1 mile loop trail by the lodge since we were short on time. The only complaint is there was not a sign for the park that was safe and easy to get a picture next too. There was a large one by the road but we could not get out and stand next to it. I enjoyed the little history lesson on the iron furnace.
