Arrived to get a smog check for a vehicle I was trying to purchase through craigslist when we got there they asked us very rudely for the vehicle renewal registration from the DMV and we told them that we did not have that because we just wanted a smog check for release of registration, they were super rude and were telling us that they couldn’t do it without the DMV renewal which is completely false I explain to the guy that, that was completely false and I had gotten multiple vehicles smogged in the past recently for the same exact thing I don’t know if they just didn’t want to do a smog check in that time or what but I guess what I said made them do it maybe they just forgot how to do their own job? He finally then agreed to do a smog check. a few minutes later he tells me that they are not “star certified” and my vehicle needs to be “star certified Smogged” the whole time they were super condescending and rude when I asked him what “star certified” meant, he then said “if you don’t know what star certified is then there’s no point in trying to explain it“ i’m also not from the area and I asked him if there was a close shop that is star certified and when I said I wasn’t from the area he just said “oh well then“ definitely one of the most unfriendly staff from an auto shop I have ever experienced, if it was me I’d never take my vehicle here and look elsewhere! Hundreds of other shops in the area that don’t treat you the way these guys do. (To whom ever the mechanic was FYI customers know a thing or two about cars & smog’s not just you, obviously you weren’t a know it all considering you ended up trying to smog my vehicle anyways, knowing I was in the right) there was absolutely no need to treat me that way. ~Chandler
