We went out as a small group. This was a first time for all of us. I thought the setting was really great. The building is this rustic old cabin on a lush green field. We were seated right away on a Friday evening. The staff was friendly and reasonably attentive.
The app we had was huge. Salads were ...small but nice in presentation and the dressing was decent quality. Sides were ok. I had the smoked chops, my wife had the crab cakes and the other couple with us both had fried seafood. My chops were pretty good and the Red Eye sauce was good. The seafood was your typical breaded, deep fried seafood. The shrimp were a decent size and you got a decent amount for the money. Crab cakes were a nice size - a little "fishy" and our group thought they were a little over cooked.
For a small town restaurant, this place is definitely above the bar. Prices are decent enough that you can go on the regular yet it is a unique enough place that this can be a special occasions kind of place. This is a restaurant I would go to again and bring guests from out of town to. ~Tim
