Dollar General

the manager's husband, who doesn't work there, came in and screamed at a minor employee while that minor was in the bathroom. The employee came out of the bathroom and the guy continued to scream at him and threaten to beat him up, while the manager just let him do that. A police report was filed and the employee quit due to unsafe working conditions. Also the reason this store is nasty is because the building is full of asbestos and it cannot be properly dealt with unless the whole building is torn down. ~Rose

I was kind of in shock when the employee proceeded to tell me i f$&ked up the coffee brewing machine ...by brewing the coffee she should've this morning. Which i did not! All I wanted was a coffee...and some gas hold the terrible attitude. Then she proceeded to continue to give me attitude paying for said coffee. Thanks for ruining my day lady. ~D

Meijer Express Gas Station

I've been going to this gas station for 13 + years now. I've never had any problems with them in the past and they are nice and convenient for me so I frequent the main store and gas station all the time. About 6 months ago or so, I had my first negative experience with one of their employees. I don't know his name, but he's middle aged, medium height white man with long darker hair and a long beard. At that time, I had taken two small plastic bags of returnable cans in with me (18 totals cans). I took them to the open register and asked the young man there if I should leave them there while I quickly grab a drink that I wanted to buy (I'd never returned bottles or cans there before). The other cashier (the man described above) quickly interrupted and in a very rude manor told me that they could only take 4 returnables at a time. He then refused to allow the younger cashier to take the ones I had. I returned home and called the main store to talk to a manager as I've been shopping there for a long time and had never been treated anything less than great. The manager told me that there was no such rule in place and that he would look into it. Fast forward some time and I've had another couple of run ins with this same guy (I try to never pick his cash register if there are two of them working). I'm polite to him when I do get his register, but he either absolutely hates his job or me. He always looks angry and I've never heard him talk politely to anyone. I've never left negative comments about any employee like this before as I've never had multiple negative experiences with anyone before...ever. Everyone has their share of bad days, but this guy seems to have them every time I see him. I spend about $1,000 a month between the main store and gas station and have done so for the past 13 years. As far as I'm concerned even if I had only ever gone there once to buy a candy bar, no customer deserves to be treated as disrespectfully as he's treated me. I'll keep shopping the main store as it's convenient and there are no other options in the area. Besides, the employees in there have always friendly. As for gas and such from the station, It might just be time for a change. ~VG
