Went to get something notarized (seeing how they are listed online as a notary). Their website said they were open at 8am, so my Fiance and I arrived shortly after 8 and they were locked up and didn't open until 8:30. We waited a good 15 mins and then went in and asked to have my document notarized. I was cut off mid sentence and asked if I were a member at their bank. I said "No", she responded "I don't know if we will notarize but let me see what you have". I had inadvertently forgotten my ID and I told her I would go back and get it. To which she responded in a huff with "Well wait a minute. Let me go ask my supervisor if she is comfortable notarizing something for a person who isn't even a member here".
I looked at her and said "You know what? Forget it...I will take my business to someone who is happy to have it."
If you plan on refusing to notarize things for anyone who is not a member, then don't list your business as a Notary for the public. And you may want to send your employees to some people skills classes because they need to learn how to speak to people politely.
And by the way, we are shopping around for a mortgage lender as well, so you lost potentially more then just a simple notarized document. There is no reason to treat people in a condescending and snotty manner simply because they do not yet belong to your business. The only reason they are receiving 1 star is because it will not allow me to go any lower. Not only would I not recommend this business to anyone, I will inform them of this encounter and advise against taking any business there. ~B
