I used this gas station all the time with no problems until today I always used my Sunoco card to pay for gas at the pump I rarely go inside the store. So my son and I were outside pumping gas today and a blonde girl come running out waving some paperwork at me telling me I owe money to them. Ha he last time I was there my card did not work and I left without paying. So I stopped pumping gas and walked inside to see the manager to see what the problem was. The manager showed me some receipt I have never seen before for $10.53 and said I owe his bill, I explained to her that I paid at the pump that day and never came inside. She said sometime even though the pump says approved it does not pay? I have never experienced that before with any gas card? She went on to say that they did not know I was using my card at the pump and the girl behind the counter turned on the pump from inside the store and recorded $10.53 and I never came in to pay it?
She said people get mad at them for not turning on the pumps automatically when they are standing at the pumps. Like somehow this is my problem? She said this happened to several people, I told her I needed to speak with Sunoco about this and would get back to them.
After speaking with Sunoco there were no unpaid, unallocated, wrongful use, what so ever, the full amount was billed to my card that I used that day in question, What they said was either when the girl turn on the pump inside it double recorded my sale or someone in the store tried to steal money from my account and then said I took off without paying.
Either way the incompetence of the store workers at this Sunoco station created this situation and making false accusations against customers, not a very customer friendly station. I also believe their pumps to be inaccurate because every time I go there I never receive the amount of gas the pumps is reading. Which I believe is a state and federal violation. ~John
