Lessons From the Art

Absolutely love Lessons from the Art! My entire family has found a place here. My father takes guitar lessons, piano lessons are also offered. My children do dance upstairs as well. There are painting and weaving classes offered as well! ~Alexandria

The Iron Grille

Attended dinner at The Iron Grille for their New Years Eve dinner. At the dinner we received 3 courses. This is not my first visit to the restaurant. I’ve been hooked ever since finding it out. Wisconsin is known for their cheese curds. But the cheese curds here are just another level. I don’t know what it is about them, but they are irresistible and hard to stop eating. The dinner overall was great as usual. The noteworthy dish was their steak bulgogi. This dish is prepared different than bulgogi that I normally eat. But their interpretation was still very delicious. The thing that I find most amazing about this place is that it’s this unassuming restaurant in a small town that upon your first visit you don’t have high standards for. But the Chef always comes up with these dishes and flavor pairings that are always great. Something you would expect to see in a major city. If you ever get the opportunity to visit, it is a must stop. ~Chris

Crystal Cafe

This was my first time to Crystal Cafe. I was visiting a friend in Iola and he suggested that we stop here for lunch. The first thing I noticed when we pulled up was the Pies 2 Die 4 sign. It definitely captured my attention. The inside of the cafe is very nice with brick walls, wood top dining tables, an old school dining counter, and a nice assortment of antiques, wall decorations, and historical photographs. It's very comfortable. I felt like I was walking back in time. Service at this cafe is outstanding. We were seated and had our drinks within a couple of minutes. Both the host and our server were small town friendly and very attentive. I had the heart stopper burger; two farm fresh hand made burgers with cheddar, Swiss, caramelized onions, pickles, bacon, mayo on the side, and homemade French fries. It was the best burger that I have ever had here in Wisconsin. The flavor and juiciness of the burger were deliciously incredible. Our server informed us that they mix all their meat in-house using the highest quality locally sourced beef. I would also like to mention that this cafe has been in business for 75 years. Unfortunately, I didn't have any room left for pie, but they have a large selection of pies that are made fresh in-house. They also have a nice selection of homemade jams. I fell in love with this cafe the moment I walked in the door. Wonderful small town hospitality at its finest. And the food, well, words do the food very little justice. You are simply going to have to experience this cafe for yourself. ~Timothy
