My recent experience with the service department and its manager was just impressive. They were skilled, qualified, fixed my car's issues and also were incredibly reasonable and fair when repairing another shops shoddy work. When I left I was pleasantly surprised at the treatment my car and me received. I wholeheartedly recommend this service dept.

Chrystal and the service team at this dealership truly are above and beyond and I can't put into words my gratitude! Our subaru broke down while on vacation. I called in tears because it was the day before we were scheduled to come back home and our motel was sold out and could not extend our stay. Every motel I called was sold out. Crystal from the service department went above and beyond to help us. Recommended a tow company and managed to get our car up and running in time for us to head home. I cannot say enough good about Crystal and the service team at this dealership!

I came in to get an oil change…only an oil change, which at every other place I have gone, takes about 20 minutes. I sat here for over an hour until they even took my car back, and 40 minutes after that. What is the point of an appointment?

Gateway sent a salesman out who found my rear gatelift not working properly due to dust in the chips. No charge and he offered that for simple things like this I do not need an appointment. Good to know. Previously they replaced the gatelift struts and replaced the rear wheel bearings that caused the rear end loud noise...all for free. Great job, folks!

When I called to make the service appt I mentioned I needed an oil change and fix my leaky tire. When I got to Subaru they only had me down for the oil change. My appt was for 1:45 pm, which I dropped off the keys at 1:47pm. I had to look lost before the secretary told me where to wait even though she knew it was my first time there. At 3:08 the secretary called me to say they found mucky brakes fluid and asked to see if I wanted it changed for $110. I was in the waiting area; they could have asked me that in person like they did with everyone else! I checked with my husband and called back the secretary to give the green light. I watched everyone before and after my arrival leave before me. I didn't want to bug anyone asking for updates, which I regret. Once I became the last person there, is when the secretary asked me for my name to get an updated on my car. Another gentleman also came out and said he would get an update on my car as well, (seeing as it was close to 5 pm). The secretary comes back shortly with the bill so I followed her to pay. I get the receipt and the tires weren't covered under the tire warranty, and I wasn't given an explanation of the bill without inquiring about it. I also looked at the brake fluid change and saw that they charged way over $110. The brake fluid flush came out to $181.95 I still do not have an explanation as to why that is. Looking at the bill, I saw the time stamp of 3:57 and asked if the car had been ready since then. She stated it was when the tech noted the issues in the system. Once I paid I had to ask where to pick up the car and she said they will be bringing it around since it's getting washed. There was poor communication from beginning to end.

First experience purchasing a vehicle sight unseen - no regrets! Gateway Subaru. What can I say? Best experience ever. With the pandemic still in full swing, vehicles were in short supply everywhere, so I visited the Gateway Subaru website and selected a silver Crosstrek in transit. Having friends who are committed Subaru families yet never having driven one myself, I said a prayer and hoped I was making the right decision. Turns out, that is the best car purchasing decision that I have ever made. Gateway Subaru made buying a new car super simple and pleasant. The Crosstrek is stylish, roomy, and a fabulous drive, and the professionals at Gateway offer outstanding service.

Unfortunately, I have had an awful experience with the used vehicle purchased from Gateway in November. I have owned the vehicle for 46 days and spent over $500 in repairs that should have without question been fixed while the vehicle was in the possession of Gateway. That $500 doesn't even count the "free" work that Gateway did because of a valve leak. Thought I was getting a steal of a price. Now paying repair bills on a vehicle that shouldn't have passed MD inspection. Van Purchased 11/1/21 after passing Gateway MD State inspection - 12/2/21 $368.00 for replacing oil covered spark plugs due to valve leak that was "fixed" by Gateway - 12/17/21 $193.50 to replace oxygen sensor - 1/7/22 $455.41 to remove timing covers and fix oil leak coming from oil filter adapter housing. Replace gasket and re-assemble - 2/1/22 $205.32 to replace leaking VVT solenoid gasket Total $1,222.23 spent on repairs in 3 months of owning the van.
