Quality products at great prices. Even better customer service. I received the wrong glove size and as soon as I notified the company they shipped me the correct size without waiting for my return to be delivered. They paid for the return shipping as well.

First time to order with this company and will be the last. Went to order supers and frames, wanted them already assembled (which is on their website), couldn't use the website to order, called to order and was told they don't have them assembled. Ok fine, ordered the unassembled boxes and frames for more than quoted on the website. Ordered nails to match and am now stuck with unassembled supers and only enough nails for one super out of five ordered. And the quality of these boxes? Absolute junk.

They don’t care about craftsmanship and really don’t care about you. Worst customer service I’ve had in a long time. But their “select” wood and get their budget work. I wouldn’t buy their junk again if they were the last place on earth. They sell “Dadant” stuff except for their poorly build hive bodies and supers. Buy from Dadant if that’s what you are looking for.

I stopped in for a quick request for beeswax and was met with eye rolls and sighs. It was apparently close to closing time (which wasn't posted anywhere that I could see) and I was imposing on their efforts to leave. I could have done without the rudeness - I'd have happily come back another time, but they were so rude and annoyed that I was there, that I will not be returning. I get that selling beeswax isn't their main business, but a little kindness would have gone a long way. Trying to shop local, and now I won't be recommending them for anything!

In 2016 I started an adventure in beekeeping. My local beekeeping club recommended ordering a beginner kits from Western Bee Supplies. The quality of the the hives was top notch. The high grade lumber and precision cuts made assembling the hive and frames easy. The responsiveness of the staff when I would call or email was five star. They are good people to work with and clearly provide good quality material. You can't go wrong purchasing from Western Bee Supply. I have tried other, fancy supply companies and found the quality of the lumber and cuts of the material to be of less quality than what Western Bee provides.

From their website: "Western Bee offers free shipping on most of our woodenware and other products if your order exceeds $100 and is shipped within the contiguous U.S. (lower 48 states)." I placed an order today and was told by Vicky that my budget grade woodware (which was about half of my $400 order) didn't qualify for free shipping and would have to pay $168 in shipping charges. Fine. I told her to upgrade it all to commercial grade and I would pay the difference to qualify for free shipping, and she informed me that my order was too large and would have to be shipped via truck and therefore didn't qualify for free shipping and I would still have to pay $168 for shipping. I told her to cancel my order and I took my business to Mann Lake, who gladly gave me free shipping for my entire order. I get that you don't want to give free shipping on your cheapest woodware, but when someone is spending more than enough on other things to qualify for free shipping then give them free shipping. Honor the terms that you set forth and don't tell me that I am buying too much stuff to get free shipping.

Many people say that these hives are top notch, well mine were awful. One of my med super sides arrived cracked in two pieces. Shipping is fast if they have it in stock. They wont tell you if an item is backordered you always have to initiate the call or email to find out where your products are and when you can expect them. Prices are good, but Ill go to Mann Lake from now on. I have never been disappointed with them.

I'm a beginning hobby beekeeper and I don't know very much. I'm treated with respect and always have all of my questions and concerns answered. Rick is very knowledgeable and helpful. I've emailed and called and have always gotten someone right away. All of the equipment I have bought from them has been great and shipped promptly. I recommend Western Bee to everyone.
