It would've been a better experience if not for the fact that this Redbox kiosk is placed just beyond the covered part of the outdoor area/walkway of CVS where, if it's raining hard, you get poured on while trying to rent your movie/video game. If they'd just placed the kiosk a few feet to the left, the kiosk would be below the covered part of the walkway, where there'd be some protection from the rain. To make matters worse, there's a sunguard screen thingamajig over the touchscreen that you have to hold up with one hand while trying to type on the touchscreen with the other. Not a problem when you're first renting, but, if you're *returning* discs, it feels like you need a third hand to do all that while also juggling with trying to hold onto the discs being returned. It's the same deal at the Redbox kiosk outside of the Rt. 1 South CVS in North Brunswick (where we got drizzled on last summer, come to think of it...). They should follow the example of the outdoor Redbox kiosk that's outside of the Walgreens at the corner of Handy St & Jersey Ave in New Brunswick. That one might be in a relatively sketchier neighborhood, yet it's under a covered part of the walkway outside. After getting a pretty good rain-soaking the last time we rented at this kiosk outside of the Livingston Ave CVS, I made a note to self to *only* go to an indoor one (or to the Walgreens one, sketchy neighborhood or not) if it happens to be raining when we feel like renting a movie again. If it hadn't been for that, I'd have rated it much higher. Getting rained on while trying to check out the selection and having my jacket soaked with rain by the time the discs came out of the machine made it a miserable experience. To add insult to injury, since the adjacent CVS closes at 10 and the rest of the shopping center has businesses that close earlier than that (except for the Burger King, though that's a bit further away from the kiosk), the area's pretty dimly lit, compared to other places. Thankfully, the neighborhood isn't a bad one, but it's still a bit tension-inducing if going there alone late at night.
