They weren't up front up with me about not wanting to see my dog. I squared my bill up and instead of saying they didn't want me to bring him there anymore they said they couldn't get him in time because of how bad he needed the surgery. Well took him to state college and got the surgery. Which I found out he will need additional surgery's. Called them to see if they could do the surgery possibly was told to keep taking him to Everett and state college. Which I was like well im calling you for a reason. I talked to the manager Rebecca and she said we had a conversation about it and that they didn't want to see my dog ever. Which is a total lie because if thats what was said why would I even waste my time calling them again. Needless to say I will never recommend anyone to ever take their animal there. Cove is so much nicer and treat there patients better least in my opinion.

I would like to know how anyone even gets to schedule an appointment with this place? 8 hours worth of repeated attempts to call them and nothing but a busy signal. Has anyone in the Cove ever heard of the invention of a thing called an answering machine or is this place still stuck in the 1970s? I guess I'm glad I moved away years ago to a much more up-to-date and modern city and state and don't require an emergency vet service today. I'll be calling vets closer to Altoona, I'm hoping they can actually either answer a phone or have some up to date answering service available that isn't running on an old dial up system or a phone hanging on a telephone poie setup. You know, a living & breathing receptionist that isn't busy filing her nails. Just would have loved to keep my business in the Cove but oh well..........

The staff and Dr. Harden are professional, accommodating and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. From puppy to end of life they are respectful and sincerely love animals. I highly recommend this practice. The only two drawbacks are that they phone is constantly busy because they are that great! And, they only take cash or check. However, they are worth the wait and the minor inconvenience of the latter is negligible.

Visiting the area and had a puppy health scare. Found this vet office open on a Saturday so tried calling multiple times on our 40 minute drive and the line was constantly busy. Arrived, concerned for our dog, only to be told we would have to go to State College (another 44 miles). Not even an offer for the tech/vet to take a look at her to see if it would be necessary. Very disappointed in this clinic as you would think the welfare of an animal would their top priority, but was obviously is not. Also, the lady at the desk had no compassion for concerned pet parents and was rude and could have cared less. Due baby is doing better, but still not 100%.

I have been using Companion Animal Hospital for 15 years as of 2020 and Dr Hardin is the absolute best. Very knowledgeable, super with my pets, caring etc! Loves to chat about everyday life... making you feel like a long time friend! Reasonably priced. I give a 5 star rating but that's not enough 🙂
