Simply incredible. A mix of amazing sculptures, and thought- provoking poetry. It's hard to believe all the art was done by one guy. He was super friendly and I had a great time talking with him about all the pieces he's done. This is a MUST SEE. And not just if you're going by. It's worth making a special trip for. I can't wait to come back.

A very special place to visit. The artist stays there during the season, and is very open to sharing about his sculptures. His work is impressive, not just in the scale of it, but also the depth and meaning behind his sculptures and written words.

Well worth the stop! The creativity and size of some of these pieces is truly breathtaking. If you are fortunate enough to meet the artist you'll be able to ask him about his creations and hear stories about his process and methods. If you struggle with mobility or walking on uneven surfaces, golf carts are available so that you can enjoy each piece up close. You'll definitely come away with lots of great photos!

Wayne Porter is an amazing artist. It was cool to chat with him about his art. I think between my husband and I we talked his ear off but he seemed like he enjoyed the conversation. Very polite and in all was a great experience. I can’t wait to see more art in the coming years if he gets more done. I told him he needs to add more and we got details on a new piece he’s doing so can’t wait to see it. This is a spot that doesn’t take a lot of time to go through and it’s a nice path to walk on so it’s a stop you must take if going through this area.

Easily spotted from Interstate 90, you will find an eclectic collection of sculptures and poetry created by Wayne Porter. This sculpture garden is well worth the trip and the cost of entry. Wayne was on site when we visited and was very friendly and engaging. Here is an opportunity to support a local artist. While walking through the field, be sure to stop and read the poetry. Some of it explains a piece, some are just a peak into a creative mind. The garden is also a Harvest host site so you weary travelers can stop by for a night and also enjoy the art. Entry is on $10/person.

Passing by on our way through and just had to stop and check these out. Totally wish we had more time but we were on a bit of a time crunch so our visit was rushed but it was definitely worth the stop to stretch our legs and see some pretty amazing art! :)

I am always looking for fun roadside attractions when making my annual trip from Austin to South Dakota, and we finally made it to Porter Sculpture Park this time! It's $10 for adults and free for kids. There are attendants on-site as well. I was impressed—there were way more sculptures than I expected, and they were bigger than they appear in photos. I'd recommend spending 15-20 minutes walking through at a minimum.
