I love the EW James Union City store. It takes me back to the days when I lived in the big city and shopped at what was then Albertsons. Ews is much smaller scale but the atmosphere is the same. The cheeseballs made in the deli ate second to none . If u don't think so try and get one at the last minute on Christmas. Lol The wine section is great with all kinds of accessories from bottle stoppers to gift bags. They even mark my Behringer down 3 or 4 times a year. Although I don't shop ews exclusively. I can't give the store enough praises. I'm so glrateful we have such a nice store here in Union City.

Wonderful, clean, and friendly place to grocery shop. The prices are great. The produce and meat are fresh and the staff are Wonderful.

I just moved back home to Union City after living in Western NC for the passed 8 years and even in the small town I lived in had a grocery store from a chain named after the founder Like E.W.'s and I thought they were high. The only reason I had went to them was bc I picked up my walmart order and they were out of a few things...anywho, after my grandson and I got back home I went over the receipt bc I was missing an item and wanted to make sure I didn't pay for it,, which I didn't...my grandson picked out a REG sz bag of doritos and they were rite at $7.00. What the heck? I normally look at prices before I put things in the buggy but I had no idea. Good lord, does the James family need money that bad cuz I know that I need to watch what little I have. I just finished chemo and at this moment and since May I haven't had an income and savings isn't much of that any more...sorry about the rant.

Went to Ew James this morning to get a sandwich from the deli. As I’m waiting another customer walks in and waiting by the cake book. The employee literally walks right past me and tends to the other customer even though I had been waiting for quite some time. This ain’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience there either. Wish we still had Kroger

When you go to EW's you will enjoy the deli. They have good chicken salad & pimento cheese. A great cheese ball & very good banana pudding. As far as the meat department you will be better off to take a trip to First Street to the Meat Shoppe. The prices will beat everyone & the quality is way above average!!

Typical small town grocery. Good size, better than average selection of items and food. Didn't like the way the store lays out, things weren't in the order you would like. Had to shop around to find basic items. All in all, not a bad grocery and definitely easier to get in and out of than Walmart!
