I adopted my two sweet kittens in June. I had a rocky experience with this facility from the start. The paperwork was thrown at me very quickly and I was rushed to fill everything out before I took them home. I was told that I would get $100 back if I showed proof of my cats spay/neuter by the END of October. The employee didn’t make an effort to make sure that I understood all of the details to get my money back. What I didn’t know, was that I could only get my money back if I showed the paperwork 7 days after their procedure. I went to show the employees my paperwork today, one day late, and was denied my refund. The manager was extremely rude and snappy with me. When I asked the reasoning behind the 7 day limit she replied with “Well, there’s gotta be a deadline at some point”. I’m a college student and the fact that the whole process they have in place is so unorganized is why this happened. The manager also told me I could’ve emailed the documents to her, but when I adopted my kittens an employee specifically told me that I had to BRING IN the paperwork to the humane society. I took extra care in understanding the process of getting my money back, because $100 is a lot especially to a struggling student who just wanted two new best friends. The employee that helped me with the adoption process only said “sign these papers really quick” and didn’t explain any of the papers she handed to me. I had no idea about the 7 day policy because of how rushed I was. This is probably their tactic of making more money by taking advantage of young first time pet owners. I’m so happy to have gotten my babies away from such a sneaky organization. I would take my business elsewhere if you don’t want to be tricked like me.

I had to drop off 4 baby kittens that were dropped off at a business I came out of while it was raining. Luckily the police gave me their number because they were my last option. I had already taken the kittens from pretty much walking out in the streets and getting hit. The process was simple. Easy! I knew I just simply couldn't leave them there I have to big of heart for that! Thanks!

I filled out the adopt papers..Ask how to see the dogs a very helpful young man told me to go threw the dog entrance making sure not to open any gates. I followed his instructions and viewed so many beautiful dogs. I found a dog I couldn't leave without Brownie now Sam. The staff was so helpful in the adoption. I recommend them.. I also suggest if anyone with a few hrs go offer to volunteer with the cats and dogs. Good team working together. I thank the director and her staff Sam is awesome.

Don’t believe the 5 star reviews of this place. The manager or whoever is flagging people like crazy for false reasons just because the can. Read all the 1 star reviews if you want the truth about this place. If you adopt a pet here you’d have to get lucky, because they basically just choose who they want to give a pet to. They don’t care about the cause of giving these animals a home. They only want the money and the feeling of power they get when they reject someone very capable of having a pet just because they don’t like them.

Wonderful staff of people. They work extremely hard for this community. They are constantly "cleaning up" community messes, the mess being the overpopulated uncared for community of pets that this put blood sweat and tears into making sure they find their homes or their right forever homes. Rescue is extremely taxing and difficult but this place has been dedicated for years and will be for years to come

I was very thankful for them helping me with my dog Bear after he broke off his collar. They showed care and support through my entire process of getting him back home an gave me information an help with better home care.

I’m giving a 5 this was the first humane society I’ve ever been in u couldn’t smell it smelt so amazing! The dogs and cats are well taken care of! The staff was simply amazing! The pictures of those sweet babies don’t do the justice u must see them and meet them! We are fostering judge!!!! I recommend the Lee county humane society to anyone! They are amazing! Very impressed!!!! Thank u guys so much! Y’all are doing amazing job!!

I've had several interactions with LCHS over the years and each time was forced to interact with very trashy people - who put more effort into attempts to make others think that they were somehow better than anyone else instead of actually doing their job.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Two of my fur babies were adopted from LCHS. The staff is helpful and the facility is always clean. You can tell that all of the animals are cared for.
