Visiting from Seattle and I can't tell you how saddened I am to not have a location near me! Everything my friends and I ordered was AMAZING and...it was even take out! I can't imagine the fresh, deliciousness that would roam around our palates if we had it fresh. It's a definite MUST in Cali! I've come to Chef Kang's a few times with my girlfriend, but I always end up getting the Army Stew. No other Korean restaurant in Ktown makes Army Stew like Chef Kang does. It literally warms my soul when I eat this. I've also tried their chicken wings and tteokboki and I would highly recommend both. They have indoor and outdoor dining as well as valet parking in the back. I would recommend trying to find street parking first since parking is free after 6pm.

I must admit that this place was totally unassuming, but it NOT disappoint. Everything was so good. I'd highly recommend the glazed fried chicken drumsticks, the spicy seafood fried rice, and the Korean pork belly. Unlike many other places, their spicy is actually spicy, so govern yourself accordingly. Enjoy!

This place is so good. We got the fried chicken and spicy pork belly. The food was good, it was a lot of food but I pigged out and didn't even feel bad afterwards.

We got the galbi jjim and crab clam curry soup. They were both delicious. The galbi was a little spicy for me but it goes really well with soju. The outdoor seating area has some heat lamps that will balance out the cold a bit if you're dining out at night.

The chicken crack was good, but I think it was loaded up with msg. I left feeling very thirsty and had that msg overload feeling. The seafood fried rice was ok, but it was too wet and had too many bell peppers. The macaroni and cabbage salads were really good.

Saw this place had great reviews so I decided to give it a try.. The Chicken was phenomenal and the sweet potato fries were out of this world.. I can see why they have such amazing reviews! The whole staff team were friendly and very helpful with explaining menu items.

The sec I stepped into the restaurant I recognized the hostess, they are the same one as the great food truck in Koreatown! Food is amazing! The service is so friendly and they are a family run business. I like that they created a video of Chief Kang talking about his story as an immigrant and how he connected with the food scene in LA. We ordered fried chicken and a seafood noodle but the host gave us A LOT MORE free food. And they are all so delicious! Definitely coming back again and again! Highly recommended:)

A foodie friend had introduced me to this place and I had passed by this place a few times and I have been meaning to try this place and I am so glad I did. I love this place! So I have been here a few times now and the first thing I noticed was the Thai Tea drink (without the condensed milk). It made such a great first impression. Then came the delicious side dishes and the rest is history. So I've tried quite a few things on the menu including the G-Dragon Ball (Yummm!), Deep Fried King Oyster Mushroom (Another big YummMm), Spicy Fresh Tuna Seaweed Rice Cake, Chicken Wings with Spicy Soy Garlic and Honey Butter, the Barbarian Empire Giant Beef Ribs, and A No-Bun Volcano Burger. Everything is so sooo good. The ribs are mouthwatering as it is marinated for four hours in a Korean BBQ marinade. The portions are also huge and the presentation is on fleek. I cannot help but keep raving about this place. I have brought a lot of my friends and co-workers and they have also fell in love. I also have had an opportunity to meet Chef Kang himself and he is incredibly friendly. I cannot wait to bring my family here soon because this is a huge 5 stars in my book. LOVEEE. Parking is easy as there is a plaza (valet at night). There's also street parking available.
