Before renting anything from U-Haul, do a Google search of “U-Haul sucks”. There you’ll find stories of how U-Haul treats its customers. The day before my reservation, U-Haul moved my pickup location from Oakdale to Modesto—30 miles away. When I called to complain, the representative cancelled my reservation and hung up on me. I finally spoke to a manager who filed a complaint. I was sent an e-mail with an apology and a $50 credit. I never received the $50 credit. By far, the worst service I have ever experienced. I will never do business with U-Haul, again.

This business I believe is operating in a dishonest manor. To my dismay I drove to Truckee to find out that the transport trailer I rented was not suitable. When I returned it to another branch they said there was no way this trailer should have been rented to me and they explained to me that these smaller U-Haul branches are known for manipulating the details to be able to make it work and collect there money. U-Haul does not even have a transport trailer big enough to transport the truck we were trying to move. I was lied to about the details of the transport we were renting. Sue was lacking in customer service skills, as when I would call to complain about the situation she would not answer the phone when I called back. I'm guessing they will force me to pursue my refund through small claims court as it was promised but not yet delivered.

Renting here was a bit of a pain. I suggest going to the main U-Haul location off Kansas for an easier process.
