Amazing place to get sushi and sashimi to go! Fantastic prices to pick up plates of tuna and salmon! Their to go sushi rolls are fantastic too. This place does volume, deservedly so! The fish is great quality!

Best takeout sushi place I've encountered in the SGV. I've also pre-ordered the party platters (Deluxe Platter pictured below), which always impress our guests. Park and enter from the parking lot behind the building.

We buy sashimi regularly at Yama Seafood LA. The sashimi there are much better than the other Japanese supermarket. They offer fresh sashimi everyday. The sushi they offer are great too! Highly recommended!

Our favorite little place to get fresh seafood, sushi and sashimi to go! I love to get the grab and go sushi, but I really enjoy picking out my piece of fish from the selection at the counter and having them prepare it for sashimi to go. It can get a little crowded during lunch hour (noon -1:30) but I highly recommend it!

I’ve been coming to Yama for years and have seen the transformation. I miss the days when you can meet Yama personally and have him slice your sashimi but it’s gotten so much more efficient now! You don’t have to queue up in a line anymore. You just grab a number and shop around until they call you. And speak about shopping around, this place is a legit market now! I remember the back of the store used to have old paraphernalia displayed on the walls and shelves collecting dust. There would be antique mugs and figurines, old calendars and art, random sake glasses and notebooks. Now those shelves are stocked with all the sushi-making staples! The front of the shop also got a facelift. Lots of displays full of snacks and drinks. The fridges have desserts and frozen food items. And now they rarely run out of pre-made rolls and sushi! I love that I can come in and out in less than 30 minutes. Before I would wait anywhere from 1-2 hours. And speaking of hours, they are open every day now! I absolutely adore this place and seeing it improve over the years is a testament to how successful and amazing this place is. Also, don’t judge me for how much rice I eat 🤣🤣🤣

Amazing service throughout the staff! There are always plenty of sushi rolls, and small dishes to choose from that always get restocked once they are empty. The fish is super fresh and tasty and there is also a counter where you can pick what fish you want. They slice the fish into nice sashimi sizes if you request and the quality is superb. They also have a wide variety of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages alongside cooking ingredients, snacks, condiments, and more. This place is a great one-stop shop to get all your sushi needs for your next meal or outing!

My husband and I love coming to Yama Seafood to pick up sashimi, sushi, snacks, and condiments. They also sell alcohol and ice cream. This is a to-go place, and they get fresh salmon, yellowtail, and tuna delivered daily. We love coming here because the quality is excellent, and it's definitely more affordable than a sit-down restaurant. Here is a picture of our Valentine's Day lunch. We may save leftovers for dinner too. We highly recommend this place if you are close by the city of San Gabriel.

This place probably is one of the freshest sushi / sashimi “hole in the wall” joint I have ever tried. I was visiting friends in LA and we felt like having sushi. They offer prepackaged trays of different portions of sushi and rolls. You can also request or purchase À La Carte cuts of fresh sashimi. It was delicious even though we ate it right in our car. Will for sure be back here during my next visit! Definitely worth the ride!

A must try! The fish here is beyond fresh. Great sake selection too. I love that there's pre-made sushi on one side and Fresh fish that they prepare sashimi style on the other - something for every sushi lover. I love their Bluefin Tuna. Most of the fish/seafood is shipped straight from Japan. The place was opened by a sushi master and you can tell. The entrance is on the back side of the building.
