Do not like the new layout of the store, why cant these big corporations just leave things the way they are. Everything is all mixed up unorganized and messy. The selfcheckout register never works and there's always only one cashier. Don't blame the girls who work there I know they are doing the best they can.

I use to work here and it was okay at first. I have recently been going through some family issues and wasn't on my medication while working here. Keisha was nice to me at first, but then I noticed her demeanor toward me changed. Dollar Generals company policies are the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life. Also, unrealistic expectations when it came to putting stock out on the sales floor. They expect you to put out 2 or 3 carts stacked full of merchandise in under an hour. That is so stupid. Also, they needed to hire more people for cashier. There would be a line a mile long and leave you up there by yourself. Oh, and the self checkout doesn't accept cash. What is the point of having a self checkout if it doesn't accept all forms of payment? I wasn't even trained correctly on that either. That job was so stupid. It was fine at first, but as time went on it got more annoying. They expect you to do 5 things at once while watching the front. I'm sorry, but that is unprofessional. So glad I don't work there anymore. Not worth the headache for $10 an hour.

Place was ok. Bought headphones for emergency use and within 40min one side stopped working. The side that had the microphone. Ended up having to buy another pair at Walmart of the same brand and it worked perfectly. They tend to put returned defective items back on the shelves here at dollar general.

Great little place if you need to fix something up real quick at an affordable price. The only thing that's weird and the reason I give them three stars is because they get their season stuff way too early and then get rid of it before the season even starts like Christmas they're already have Christmas stuff full in the store and it ain't even passed fall yet or Thanksgiving

My experience there today overwhelmed me. I had but a few dollars in change to buy dog and cat food and something for myself to eat. I stopped short of the checkout to count my change again to make sure I had enough for what was in my cart. A woman stocking shelves, a manager maybe, asked if I was ok. I said yes just making sure. She must have read my eyes over the mask I had on. She asked if I had everything I needed and that she could help. I can't ask for that. She asked what I still needed. I told her I was hoping to have enough for a bag of rice. She said pick out any rice you want and I'll meet you at the register. I grabbed a small bag of rice and headed to the door. She beat me there and was possessing her debit card when the cashier told her she had such a good heart. I whole heartedly agreed. It might just be a bag of rice but with my situation it's been what I'm living on. Imagine my surprise when she payed the whole bill AND tucked her change and all my change into my hand and said Merry Christmas. Indeed! I broke down so hard I got all the way to the car before I realized I now had enough to get fruit, bread and peanut butter. So I went back in and did. What she did for me ment more than she'll ever know. You see, I prayed for a miracle this morning. This has been a bad year for some but for me it's been horrendous. I was declared 100% disabled by a judge in Dec. 2018 but unable to collect because of property in my late (14 year widow) husbands name. Non paying renters destroyed the home. My couch was on fire in the backyard when police escorted me to lawfully enter an upstairs room that I'd kept for myself and recover what I could. Of course it had been broken into. I didn't know then that those who were helping me get were actually helping themselves too. What was left got painted a weird greenish, including oak furniture my father had made for me and antiques. My elderly cousin helped me through that and in return he bought most of the food and I cooked for him, his dog, myself and whoever he said was coming to dinner. Not easy to plan meals for a 300lb war veteran with diet and fluid intake restrictions that no one else in his family understood. I also stuck with him for VA appointments and hospitalizations when I'd find him in near diabetic coma after their visits. When dementia started we devised tricks and notes to jog his memory so he could stay in his home with his dog as long as possible. When he fell and broke his hip a year ago it became too much. I was willing to try. Mounted handbars I already had all over his house. Devised a hanging runner so he didn't trip over his oxygen cords. Bought all the safety equipment and planed a hanging harness system. Instead they accused me of stealing from him and I was never allowed to see him again. I still hear him screaming for me when I snuck in, told him what was up and got dragged out. He passed from covid this August on the same day as the ex who admitted he was the one stealing. He gave his dog to my new boyfriend. My new love arranged for his sister to rent the other house in lew of repairs, all in a written contract. I opened my polebarn and yard to a couple who lost their house. Supposed to be a week and they'd help me pay my taxes.THAT day the covid quarantine started. 6 months later, no rent from sister, no help and an attitude about asking for half the electric from the polebarn. My boyfriend took charge. Called his sister on the due date every month and got rent and chased those who forgot they were guests and started moving people in with them on my property all hours of day and night, OUT. Then, in October, he died. More accusations. Found my tires flat and my battery disconnected at the starter. His dog, who has puppies with my dog, was stolen. No rent since he doesn't call them anymore. I am utterly alone. No income. Having yard sales to survive. I'd done the flea market when I could. Electric cut off is Monday. God, I'm as done with humanity as you when you turned lots wife to salt. Then I got my miracle. Thank you DG

Went in for laundry pods and fabric softener and was greeted by a beautiful cashier. Who said she opened and closed last night. Was still so cheerful and had a beautiful smile..
