Roland and his team at Renewable Energy Services, Inc. (RES) have earned my trust for reputable work and service. When installing my system a decade ago, I selected RES from among other cheaper companies because of the design/installation details they implemented that stood out from their competitors. I am not interested in cheap. I am interested in performance and quality of work and service. When manufacturing defects in the solar panels compromised the operational integrity of the system, they did their best to satisfy me at their expense, even though the fault was with the solar panel manufacturer. I recently replaced the faulty solar panels with new panels, again relying on Roland and his team at RES to do the job. I would not have had it any other way as RES has earned my complete trust as a company that will do things the right way from the start, and continue that promise and practice for years to come. We had an off-grid project collapse before installation when a lower-priced vendor ran into business difficulties. RES stepped in, took over the permit, and showed tremendous flexibility in getting our project re-started, with an improved design. They have been, start to finish, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, easy to work with, and thoroughly professional. They do what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it, and the crew have been nice people to have around. They don't publicize themselves aggressively, but if you've found your way to them, you have done very well.

We had our first photovoltaic system installed by RES 23 years ago as we were building our home. At that time we didn't even have a roof on which to install solar panels. Having never lived off grid before, we were very pleased over the years with their continued support and advice. When it became necessary to update our system, from the initial assessment by Roland, to the presentation of contracts by Joe, and the accounting support by Diane, we found all arrangements to be made with professionalism and compassion. ALL our questions were addressed and answered completely. When the time came for installation, everything was handled with efficiency, and the utmost consideration. They were on time, respectful, listened to our questions, were as concerned about aesthetics as we were, and went above and beyond to make certain everything was installed the best it could be. It was quite obvious the professional team of installers worked very well together, enjoying what they were doing as well as each other. Charles, the electrician, handled hooking everything up even better than we thought possible. These people really know what they are doing and explain everything as well. We are amazed with the technological advancement of our new system and are so pleased with its efficiency and ease of operation. We highly recommend RES...you will be thrilled with the results.

We have worked with Renewable Energy Services on two projects at our home. Initially, we installed photovoltaic panels and recently we installed a backup battery system. These systems are not inexpensive; however, they are the prudent thing to do, especially while there are State and Federal energy tax credits available. RES installed a grid tied self supply system on my home on the Big Island. They did a fantastic job managing all aspects of the project while I was off island. The quality of their install work was excellent. One of the panels had a rare manufacturing defect which revealed itself after the installation. RES responded by replacing the panel, despite the logistical challenges of working during the pandemic. This is great local company, and I would happily do business with them again.

I received a prompt reply to my initial inquiry..They provided good information about lithium batteries in an understandable form. Prices were right on with prices from the manufacturer and installation was reasonable. They also removed and recycled my lead-acid batteries the same day at a reasonable cost. They have answered all of my followup questions promptly and thoroughly. The crew arrived on time and worked efficiently even while answering my questions. They are knowledgeable as well. The accounting department was very efficient and timely. I can highly recommend Renewable Energy Service for solar installation. Our system is off-grid and providing all our energy needs.
