Be prepared to hear her stories going back to how her ancestors signed the Magna Carta, they own 5,000 acres, she has electric fences to control her aggressive dogs, she stays in a million dollar condo in Florida, they own a bunch of houses, she has the largest commercial kitchen in Illinois, etc etc. She even bragged about how she had her son’s girlfriend arrested to teach her a lesson. This was a one time thing for us. We won’t be back. Lots of places sell better chocolate.

As a Harvest Host Member, we spent the night in our Class A RV. Amy shared her family’s multigenerational passion for chocolate, vanillas, herbal teas, salves, farming and much more. Definitely worth the stop!

Here is a wonderful mother-daughter top-notch candy store. There is a bit of a drive into the country (less than 3 miles), but the drive is worth it. [Below are pictures of each turn from southbound I-55 to the candy store]. The candy selections include several chocolate varieties. We purchased three different chocolate choices and all are wonderful! We also bought peanut brittle and my wife just loves it. The prices are quite fair for homemade, handmade goodies. The ladies who own, make, sell, and promote the candies are super friendly. This store is wonderful!

What a great gem this is. Lovely place to see how small batches of candy are made. I dare you to not walk out with less than 4 different kinds of candy. Very friendly staff and you can get even get a short history lesson about this wonderful area.

My first visit was last year. Can't wait to go back. Such a charming little area. Lots of goodies. All made right there. A big window to watch as they make their candies. Prices are good. Selection is good. Samples are excellent. ☺ 5⭐

Omg... Wonderful Candies... Such a great find in the middle of the country and yet it's been there 70 years. Ladies are so friendly. Family owned for 70 years!!
