I brought in a trumpet with a really uncommon cheap brand and the valve had broken in half and needed to be re aligned and soldered. Mike himself took it back and finished it in 2 days! The price was immaculate for the service provided. Would recommend for any and all repairs and for all instrument needs in general!

Took a saxophone here that my brother played in the 90’s so my daughter could use it for her first year in band. It was in very rough shape and needed a lot of cleaning a repair. I was shocked when I picked it up. It virtually looked brand new!! Mike did such an amazing job and helped me get everything I needed to get my daughter started off on the right foot. THANK YOU MIKE! Will definitely take any/all instruments here for future needs! 5+⭐️

I've been playing music on and off through the years since the 2nd grade when I started piano, picked up violin later, and now I'm starting up guitar. I almost went to a Guitar Center, but I'm EXTREMELY glad I went here, instead. These folks were incredibly genuine when discussing wants and needs of the musician, as well as going above and beyond and talking about sound preferences and how the make of the instruments will affect the sound produced. I wish I had met them years ago when I was looking for a violin. Absolutely fantastic! I will be going here for any instrument I want to purchase in the future, and probably lessons, too.

Excellent service at Mike's Brass & Woodwind!! Simply the best. Ordered an extremely tough-to-find bass guitar (discontinued by the manufacturer in the fretted model) from Mike's and they shipped it safely and quickly to Canada when the big dealers would probably not do this. A beautiful instrument that looks and sounds great!! Thank you as well for the handy extra items in the box. Very happy!! A sincere pleasure.....

WAY more than just brass and woodwind! I moved to Illinois almost a year ago from Boston, and left my guitar tech on the east coast. Spent the last year here trying to find a remotely competent tech for my gear and I ABSOLUTELY found the place! The guys here are SO skilled, SUPER friendly, and holy hell do they know they're way around instruments - just picked up my guitar for it's first setup with them and they NAILED it. Will be bringing ALL of my work to them - thank you!!

I wish I found Mike’s Brass & Woodwind years ago. My kids have been playing musical instruments for about 10 years. In all that time I’ve never found a musical instrument shop this helpful or knowledgeable. Forget the big chain stores. Everyone in the shop has a degree in music at Mike’s, and he himself has a master’s. He knows every aspect from instruction to construction of instruments. He gave us a great deal and we are really happy with our choice. We’re planning to sign up for lessons in the near future too. I highly recommend this store.

I would recommend Mike and his crew. We went there today to have my daughter's instrument serviced. He had fixed the issue with the Saxophone within 10 minutes. Mike is very knowledgeable and helped us purchase a used Saxophone to upgrade what my daughter had. Mike stands by his work, and works with his customers to ensure their satisfaction. They have affordable payment options to rent instruments if your student is just starting out. Remember Mike Brass and Woodwind this fall when your student signs up for band.

My son is starting band this year and was excited to play his dad’s American made Bb clarinet when he was in band as a kid. Unfortunately, it has been sitting in the case for over 25 years and needed new corks, pads, etc. We found Mike’s Brass & Woodwind on Google and they had great reviews so we decided to give it a shot. The clarinet needed to full rehab which he estimated would take about 3-4 weeks due to the numerous people in front of us needing work done on their instruments. This would put us past when band was supposed to start so they provided a loaner free of charge as they worked in rehabbing ours. Mike’s definitely over delivered! We got a call yesterday that it was ready which was only 2 weeks since we dropped it off! We went in today to pick it up and it looks brand new! It is beautiful! My son is thrilled that he will have his own fully refurbished clarinet on his first day of band and it is extra special since it is his dad’s. We couldn’t be happier! Just wish I had taken before photos so you could truly appreciate the amount of work he did on it.

When looking for credible personal to preform a Much Needed touch up to my 22 year old Selmer CL200 clarinet, I was Extremely impressed with Mike's Brass & Woodwind. Very knowledgeable staff and speedy service! My clarinet looks off the shelf new and plays beautifully! With shining keys, polished wood, replaced pads, corks, and a mouthpiece guard, who could ask for more? Thank you for the amazing service, you gained a customer for life!

Where do I begin? On a recommendation from a family friend, I filled out a rental request form online and received a call from Mike the next morning. He was super nice, professional, and genuinely wanted to help us find a French horn for my 11 year old son just starting band. His fees and terms are clearly listed on his website, but he was sure to go over them again. Once we decided to go with Mike's Brass and Woodwind, Mike went above and beyond to actually hand deliver my son's horn to our home! The horn is beautiful! All I have been listening to since noon today is the sound of a boy learning to play his horn. I would, and did, recommend Mike's Brass and Woodwinds to anyone that is looking to purchase and/or rent an instrument.
