I decided to stop in Rainy Day Books one day after driving by on my way home from work almost everyday. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly employee asking if I needed help finding anything to which I declined, as I was just browsing. Five minutes later I was asked by a different employee if I needed help looking for anything. I declined yet again. Another ten minutes goes by when I am approached for a third time. I really doubt customers enjoy being harped on to this extent. If I decline help twice, then I don’t need to be asked a third time. Despite all the unnecessary inquiries, I had gathered a stack of potential reads when I was approached by a woman claiming to be the store manager asked if I was finding everything okay. I later heard this “store manager” speaking harshly to one of the employees. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing to witness. I decided this wasn’t a business worth giving my money to and left without buying anything. I am leaving two stars because the employees who did greet me were very kind and professional unlike their higher-up.

I went to Rainy Day Books for the first time, and I can’t recommend it enough. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and recommended so many good books to me, I couldn’t choose which book to pick up first. I’m excited to have found a local independent bookstore to call my own!

This boutique-style book shop fits great in this space. They always have the books I need for my book club and have an impressive children's section. They also have those great Indestructible Books that babies can mouth, chew, pull at, etc., and will NEVER tear! If you're into foraging and edible mushrooms and things like that, they do not have a selection on it, but they do seem to have a few cookbooks and gardening books here and there. So hey!

Went for the Stephen Pastis book signing and they were horribly underprepared. I ordered a book for the signing online that day because online it said that copies were still available. When I got there they told me it was sold out when I had placed my order. They gave me the option to get a bookplate signed or do a refund. I was going to get a signed bookplate cause I still wanted to meet him but the line was way too long and was clearly gonna go way over the time the event was supposed to end. I had to leave and cancel my order because I couldn’t stick around that long. Will be using the gift card I have for this place but after that I won’t be spending another penny here. It’s truly just a mid bookstore with nothing that really separates it from other bookstores aside from the signings which they can’t seem to handle.

Wonderful local book store. I've ordered books for my parents from their store for several years and the staff has always been incredibly kind and helpful. Cannot recommend them enough.
