Order your books elsewhere, they either don't get it right, or if you need a new book because of an online code or want to make sure none of the pages are torn out, they will, 90% of the time, send you a used book. Also the customer service is terrible, i been trying to figure out how to replace my used one they sent me, when I needed the new book for the online code, and cannot get a single person to answer the phone anytime of day any day of the week for a week now. Check any other bookstore for your books, it will be cheaper as well. Idk why they uncharge the books when we need them so badly, especially after they do the same to the classes, mandatory meal plans, housing is like 20% more expensive than anywhere else and still make those living on campus buy a parking pass, oh and the mandatory rec center fee that will never get used.

Every single experience I have had with this place has been a train wreck. I always try to be as polite as I can. But to be told you're out of luck after waiting in their line for 30 minutes three different times is ridiculous. NKU needs to stop focusing on building more dorms before fixing this department in need.

This is the worst store to purchase anything. The store manager CHRISTIN REYNOLDS was not helpful, she is very unprofessional and thinks she can bully and over charge. I was left on hold 3 different times for over 20 minutes waiting to speak to her. She wouldn’t even get on the phone to talk with me. She had her employee JENNY pass along her massages. Shame on you Barnes & Noble College for having a incompetent, unethical, inexperienced rude manager. This manager deserves a zero star! I will never purchase anything from here again.

Terrible experience. They scam students. when I attempted to return a book the Manager of the bookstore was beyond inconsiderate and very disrespectful. I would never suggest for anyone to purchase from here. They take advantage of students and over charge them then generate beyond heinous policies that justify their exploitation of students. Save your money and your sanity don’t shop here.

Website says they close at 4:30pm. Drove 30 minutes to return my textbook rental after work. Showed up at 4:10pm and they are closed. There were 6 other people standing outside the door trying to return their book as well. Ridiculous.

They've got that NKU gear you've been searching for and those school books that'll get you through finals! Plus some cool pop up cards during the holidays.

I ordered a used (rental) book through NKU's online Bookstore. Upon receiving the book and checking my credit card statement, I was given a new book and charged an additional chunk of cash without notification. I was unaware of a policy that exists which states, "We strive to provide the most affordable options, but our local inventory changes daily. If we substitute a different format than the Used or Used Rental you requested, you will see that reflected on your final bill." I was later told by staff that this notification is present during the ordering process and in the confirmation receipt, which it is. But, it's not communicated intuitively to the user. It's recessive; akin to large technology companies that bury privacy and data collection info in their terms and service agreements. Essentially, I was able to purchase an item that was non existent, then charged more than I expected to pay without notification and given a different format of the book than I expected to receive. I could have ordered the book for a much cheaper price from a third party vendor, however, by the time this all unfolded, class was underway and I didn't have the time to return and reorder. After going back and forth with the Book store staff, and offering some advice to better improve their inventory/processing system and UX (so this situation doesn't happen again), communication went quiet. Be cautious and remember the bookstore, like the college, is a business. If you're renting or buying a used book from Northern Kentucky University's Book Store, it's a gamble, rather than a promise.

I just wanted to give the five stairs to whoever helped me the other day. I’d like to add that whoever helped me WAS NOT in the top bookstore area, but below where all of the guys are. THEY are the helpful ones. I made sure to get their direct number as well. The ones below the bookstore. The people who work at the actual bookstore above never know what they’re even talking about and always send me over to the guys below anyway. Most of the actual bookstore employees just sound completely incompetent if I’m being honest. The FIVE STARS goes to the gentleman below the bookstore that rushed my package to me because we live in Washington State due to my husband being military. YOU SIR, are the real MVP! I wish I would’ve caught your name. Just know I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to help me!

Advice from a NKU Senior: Never buy books here. You'll save money by renting or buying cheaper books on Amazon. I had a really bad experience here and should of avoided this store completely. Shop smart and don't throw away your money. Never again‼️
