Best electronics store in Oakland, California (CA) 2025

This was the worst customer service ever. I am in the process of installing a Garmin AIS on my sailboat. I needed some connecting wire and connectors and some advice. I went to Star Marine because of their positive reviews. I spoke to the owner who told me I didn’t buy my electronics from him and it wasn’t worth his time to help me. I said I would be buying all the hardware to complete the job. He again told me it wasn’t worth his time. I am in the marine industry and I will never go to Star Marine again and will never refer anyone to him. All he had to say was he only does installations and doesn’t provide retail sales of the cabling and connectors. I would have understood. Instead he was extremely rude. He could have given some advice and made a customer for life. I then drove to Reliable Marine Electronics In Alameda. Ian McDanial was happy to help. He took 20 minutes and sold me everything I needed. I will use them from now on and refer people to them. I rarely write reviews but feel strongly about this one. ~Mark
