Best book store in Walnut Creek, California (CA) 2025

Adorable store with excellent, well-curated books mostly for kids and teens. They also do a lot of events like author readings and collabs with local businesses - a true community establishment! When I was last in there, they had a lovely little bake sale pop-up in one corner of the store, which was wonderfully convenient as I had to pick up some treats anyway for an event later. The two owners are both very knowledgable and are always spot-on with their recommendations. Over the years I've been shopping there, they've been able to rise to the occasion of such asks as "I have a budget of $100 that I'd like to spend on a starter set of books for newborn so please put something together," or "my 3-year-old loves narwhals and Dungeons & Dragons - what do you recommend?" Love love love that they're indie and truly care about their customers and community, and are so thoughtful about their selections!! Plus the place is super cute! ~Yiyi
