Best grocery store in Evanston, Illinois (IL) 2024

I know that this Jewel-Osco gets a lot of stick, but that seems unfair. The only time I had a negative experience was when they rearranged their aisles. I felt like I had Alzheimer's as I wandered around getting re-oriented. That said, it's good to walk into a produce section that features its organic selection first. The produce is almost always in great shape (bananas are notoriously hard to keep green) and are re-stocked quickly. The deli was a good selection of cuts, and they're happy to give you a sample or two to get the cut right. Everything else is as it should be - its produce section may not rival Valli, but it's better than TJ, and its frozen section is much larger than Valli's. ~Jon
