Had a *FANTASTIC* experience today at DSW. The background: I don't like shoe shopping and rarely find anything that 1. I like, 2. that fits, and 3. is reasonably priced--even at places like DSW. I went in about a month ago and picked up two pair of booties that were cute and moderately priced, but I was debating about their comfort and versatility. Still, I bought them because I know I have trouble with shoes and didn't want to miss out--one was literally the last pair in my size. When I got them home I would try them on with an outfit and then wonder if they would be versatile enough, or comfortable enough, and if I even wanted them enough! So I never bit the bullet and wore them because I just wasn't sure. Well, I visited again yesterday and found a completely different pair in BLACK (the most practical color IMHO), quite comfortable, and super cute, but *much* pricier--about the same cost as the two others combined. I noticed that one of the pairs I'd purchased previously had gone down another 10% (and made a mental note). I purchased the new black, comfy, cute pricey pair and went home to deliberate. By this morning I'd decided to keep the black pricey pair, and return one of the original two I'd previously purchased because they just didn't feel all that comfy even trying them on in the comfort of my room; and I'd ask if they'd honor the new reduced price on the other pair. In the meanwhile, I also decided to get on DSW website and see what was on offer. I discovered, to my surprise, that the pricey black pair was $30 cheaper online(!). I called and inquired about what could be done. I spoke with Emily, who told me it wasn't a problem, she could look me up in the system because I'm a rewards member (the transactions are stored in their system I guess) so I could stop in, show the proof of difference on my phone and they'd adjust. I went in with all three pairs, my original receipt from the first transaction, and my phone. She came right up to the front, I pulled out my phone and she quickly confirmed the price adjustment, looked up my transaction in the system, and $30 went straight back to my form of payment. I returned one of the other pairs w/receipt (in the box/never worn--of course!), no problem, and then explained that I'd noticed the price drop on the other pair (from 30% when I purchased to 40% yesterday). She scanned my box, pulled it up in the system and said--"Actually it's gone down to 50% off." So I got the difference there too! The whole thing took maybe 7 minutes. She was so friendly (both over the phone AND in person), even though I knew I was catching her right at the end of her shift--which is saying something. We all just want to leave work when it's time, right?! Well, she took her time, didn't rush, had a friendly conversation with me... I honestly don't know the last time I had such efficient, professional, friendly, no-nonsense service! It's *SO* RARE these days! I HIGHLY recommend this DSW! I can confidently say, based on this one experience, it's clear that the staff is exceptionally well trained and good at their jobs; the store is neat and clean; and they obviously have a good selection if even *I* came out with two new pairs of booties that I love for REALLY great prices!
