Best bank in High Point, North Carolina (NC) 2024

If you are a student or your child is banking with BB&T/Truist - I want you to be aware that they will charge you a maintenance fee for not having a certain amount of money in your account ($1500). I am in a master's program that does not allow time to work and I can not afford to always have $1500 in my account. I was unfortunately incorrectly given information by a member of this bank that said as long as a parent's account was attached to this account that it would not be an issue and I would not be charged a maintenance fee. Unfortunately, I was told incorrectly and was charged for multiple months, but instead of correcting their wrongs, they only offered to re-pay me some of the money I was charged. This is not a student-friendly bank, nor was their customer service adequate in helping me. If you are looking to start an account as a student - do not start here and take your money elsewhere! ~Carmen
