I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful this place was. We were greeted and served by one of the most bubbly and wonderful folk ever named Holly. An absolute gem, that one. Interior was chic and dimly lit which was lovely, the art on the walls were interesting and the cute table we were sat at in the bay window was precious.
We started with the samosas and the sunflower hummus, which looked (and was) so delicious I forgot to take a picture first. The deconstructed samosas we’re to die for and the sunflower hummus was so refreshing and delicious. My partner got the Korean barbecue tacos and the flavor was so well composed and savory. The beans were so sweet and the rice and lime were perfect additions to the dish.
And my plate? The Neptune salad? NEVER have I finished a salad plate. Salads get boring no matter how cool and funky they are but I borderline drank the dressing that was left. A poached egg, beautifully cooked salmon, a creamy garlic sauce, and seaweed caviar… absolutely out of this world!
The blood orange bourbon drink was phenomenal and paired so well with the vegan orange and chocolate ganache that we ended with.
The owner stopped by our table as well and was so polite and friendly. We told her we had both cooked and had been in the food industry for a long time and we were absolutely blown away.
Next time we go to Jim Thorpe, Stone Row is going to be our first and last stop.
