I am a new boat owner. To be cost efficient, I spent time researching and winterizing my boat last season.
With my Uncle health declining, he was unable to launch the boat which is pride and joy. I have taken it upon themselves to prep the boat and take him out on the lake. Being under pressure with a baby on the way, I was rushed to get the boat up and running.
On my first time out on the lake by myself, I discovered that the boat wouldn't stay running once it came down to idle. After a little bit of investigating, I noticed the boat was taking on water. I returned to the trailer and started calling around to see if anyone could take a look at it.
Thinking I might have caught a rock, Shipwreck was highly recommend. A two hour drive away, I was seriously bummed but everywhere else I called told me that they wouldn't look at it till August.
Once I arrived, near closing, the owner walked out to discuss my issues. After a few minutes of talking, he jumped into the boat and checked my exhaust plugs. I had forgotten to reinstall them. He was sure that was the problem and sent me on my way with no charge.
It's hard to find honest, fair and decent people in this world. I could have waited two months. Not knowing what I did wrong, someone could have told me the repair would be expensive.
In the world of online reviews, wish their was an option for more stars. My thanks to Shipwreck, the owner for taking time to looking at my boat right away and being honest. ~Rob
