Gimbel & Sons Country Store in Boothbay Harbor (14 Commercial St, ME 04538)
About:
Gimbel and Sons Country Store is a family operated old fashioned country store. We have a large repeat business of locals and summer residents that come in to buy locally made fudge, jams, maple syrup, barbecue sauces, gelato, cigars, men's and women's clothing. We are located right on the main pier so we cater to the boat trips selling sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, dramamine, jackets, etc. Lots of Maine and USA made gifts like North Country Wind Bells, wood signs, Borealis greeting cards, Boston Red Sox and Patriots shirts. We own the trademark Gimbels Department Stores and have been featured in the movie Elf and the TV show, Goldbergs. Come visit our 19th century post office front from Naples, Maine! Open until New Year's Eve.

Cute store- enjoyed looking around, but the employee had a terrible attitude and it was a turn off. Otherwise it was a lovely tourist shop!

Lots of gift items at very reasonable prices. The store sells water (Poland Springs) at $0.99 plus deposit and tax. Some local sodas too. Really nice staff.

Stopped in and got windbreakers for our time on the water. Also picked up a few other things. Nice little shop with lots to choose from and friendly staff. Stop in for some mementos and a windbreaker if you don’t have one and plan on going out on a cruise.

I've been here a couple times on my visits to Maine, they are very friendly and have great products. On my last visit I bought my mom a hoodie to bring home to her (had a hard time choosing which one she would like from all their options) I mistakenly got her the wrong size. I called in just today and if my memory was better I could remember her name, but; she heard me out and was very friendly into looking into seeing about an exchange. Unfortunately they were sold out. I am not surprised to hear this, but the woman was very friendly and very helpful. Definitely will be back on our next visit next year to get gifts for the rest of my family!

We found this little store on a non-busy Saturday night. If you've ever been to a store like this, it's got pretty much everything you'd expect; knick-knacks, tee-shirts, novelties, and homemade sweets - all pretty much Maine-themed. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there was a large variety of items - but the organization seemed somewhat chaotic, and the employee seemed used to customers just coming in and not buying anything. Seems to be, overall, a nice little touristy Maine gift shop.
