We had a fun stop at this cool general store. The place is chock full of good food, gifts and treats. We even bought a scratch ticket, hoping we'd win the Maine lottery. No luck but we scored some Urban Farm Cider and a few other treats.

Awesome little store. They have an amazing assortment of food . I had the Lobster Benedict, and in the case next to me you can buy Live Maine Lobster. Out front is 1 gas pump just incase you need to top off as you drive around town.

Not much parking. The staff was friendly. But the prices were unbelievable. I am from Maine and I know that stores mark up the prices but really.

The general store is cozy but still has all the basic necessities one might need on a trip to Port Clyde. They have everything from toothbrushes to fresh and even live seafood! The restaurant aspect of the store had cheerful service and delicious food. I would highly recommend the Port Clyde General Store to anyone who is looking for a yummy breakfast or a nice treat.

Waited at the counter for 25 minutes for two bowls of chowder and finally just asked for our money back. They seem to be able to prepare only one order at a time. Watched the counter attendant wrapping muffins in plastic wrap rather than stepping around the kitchen counter and just ladeling up a couple of bowls while the cook handled more complex orders. Not exactly what I think of when I hear the expression "good customer service". I sure the chowder is great but can't say from personal experience.

What a beautiful location with such a nice store full of character. We stopped here for lunch with our family of five. The staff was incredibly friendly and hard working, especially during these hard times when staffing is so challenging. The food was terrific and the portions were huge. We had a beautiful lunch on the water and are so glad we stopped. We will absolutely be back the next time we’re nearby.

My gluten-free lobster roll was excellent! Consumed at the nearby lighthouse.

First I want to clarify we came from out of town to visit beautiful Maine. We wanted to purchase some beer to enjoy, again because we are visiting Maine, so we stopped in here thinking we could grab a 4 pack to go. Little did I know my girlfriend’s New Jersey license would be an issue. We had been to restaurants and purchased drinks everywhere else in the vicinity, so why would this place be an issue??? Well our cashier was pretty rude, and so were the other customers. Our cashier insisted my girlfriend’s ID was fake because she confiscated a NJ license the day prior ( great logic there Einstein ), interrogated her after taking two of her credit cards that all had matching info and signatures, then denied her service and made her cry in the store as other customers were egging the cashier on. Unless you want to feel alienated and unwelcome I wouldn’t step foot near this General Store, I’ll be making sure none of my friends or family return here and sharing my story elsewhere.

I had breakfast here and ordered an omelet with a grilled English muffin and home fries. I also ordered a coffee and was told that it was self service(no tip). The English muffin was so lightly grilled I may as well have ordered it toasted. The home fries must have been frozen and then deep fried as they were among the worst home fries I have had and the seasoning was not consistent at all. The omelet was the only redeeming factor here as long as you don't mind an omelet swimming in vegetable oil. The flavor of the omelet was good though, hence the 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately just about everything is overpriced here.
