I am the seller of a home that is now a week past the 27 December closing date that never happened. As the buyer's lender, NFCU contracted the appraisal in early December, but on 22 December, the NFCU loan officer informed us that closing wouldn't happen on time because she says they never received the appraisal. Knowing that the appraiser had conducted the appraisal on 7 December and uploaded the results to NFCU on 10 December, both my realtor and the buyer's realtor had tried repeatedly over those 12 days to get updates on closing progress from the NFCU loan officer, but the couple of times she bothered to respond, she gave them nothing but attitude and excuses. I also experienced the loan officer's attitude when I spoke with her, and neither she nor her supervisor could explain how an NFCU-contracted report remained unaccounted for long enough to miss a deadline, other than to say that "inquiries had been made." Nearly two weeks went by, and apparently the most effort NFCU expended was to send an email or two, and then they washed their hands of responsibility. When I contract people to do a job that I don't see the results for, I don't sit around blaming them for making me miss a deadline--I get the problem fixed! I'd certainly have more to offer than just "attempts were made to follow up on the report status" (a direct quote from the mortgage supervisor). And just when I thought NFCU couldn't possibly do anything worse, the day before the new closing date of 4 January, the NFCU loan officer sent out another email saying that closing will not happen tomorrow because she just now realized they don't have the buyer's W2s. Seriously. Sounds to me like NFCU started celebrating Christmas early, never got the job done to begin with, and then tried to make the contractor the fall guy. For a company that touts service, integrity, and community, I have found none of that at NFCU. They left their member completely out to dry with their utter disservice, they displayed zero integrity by refusing to accept responsibility for their inaction, and they showed they were more concerned with self preservation than with the greater community.

Just closed my account and never going back. The two stars is for the few people we interacted with in the location and on the phone who were great. The rest of the time it was one irritation after another. Opened an account to get a mortgage loan and our loan officer would never return calls or emails. One initial contact and then ghosted us. She constantly had new assistants and we decided to go with Nasa instead. Nasa was quick to respond and helped us through the whole process. I see no difference between Navy and other typical banks like BOA and Citibank. Their policies and service are not on par with a federal credit union.

I’ve been banking here for years and today was the worst experience I have had, I went through the drive through teller and the teller didn’t listen to a word I said and never shared the new policy with me, she also cashed a check that wasn’t even signed, I went in to get it fixed, mind you I had my special needs daughter with me and because of this It caused a disruption in her schedule which messes up the whole day, but after everything was said and done I left with my original check, horrible customer service and horrible Attitudes all tougher.

Steady flow of traffic in the bank but volumes well controlled. Unfortunately cannot say the same about the timelines and availability of additional services. I was told there were two persons working 'additional' services and it'd be a wait. It's an hour later and I'm still waiting to see someone about a notary; well leaving now. This is the worse I've ever experienced at NFCU. I didn't see a manager or anyone else making any moves to help the growing waiting list of customers. Another day, another branch😕

Far as I know the service is amazing, my review is about the darkness of the parking lot at this location (Bestgate Road, Annapolis). Very often we have to make runs for my mother in law to make deposits for her. And the last three times we've come here the parking lot is pitch black. A pitch blank bank parking lot screams danger to me and anyone with good sense. This review is about the safety of people having to utilize the ATM at any time of the night in the dark. There's nothing lighting your surroundings at all, that's truly a safety issue. I hope they will fix this sooner than later and God forbid anyone falls victim to an incident in the dark. Ijs Other than that from what I know is a great bank to bank with, with amazing service.

Great staff here who is friendly and quick. They are able to print cards at this location-- so if you lose a credit card or a debit card you won't have to wait for a new one in the mail as they can print one for you right then. They will also provide you rollers for change and when you have rolled the change will exchange it for cash.

NFCU is the best bank! Always helpful, friendly staff and comfortable facility! You can get new card if lost. Easily deposit cash or check. This facility can accommodate to a variety of needs. It is a branch.
