I bought my used car about 2 years ago, and had no idea my brake rotors were totally shot, and they needed to be replaced. I also was in need of a new brake bad and a brake fluid flush. Had the car back in less than 2 days, and prices were totally fair. Would definitely recommend!

I drive an older car (heading towards 200,000 miles!) and thanks to regular oil changes, I never had any problems with it until a year and a half ago. I’ve taken my car to Ming’s three times in that time, and they have done a great job each time. I love that they text and email, and I love that they send detailed lists of the work they do, along with pictures. You can probably find lower prices at other shops in the area, but I’d rather pay a little more and know that my car is taken care of. Thanks to Ming and Cory for a great, honest shop!

I was worried about finding a new trusted auto repair shop for my Honda CRV since my previous repair shop had closed. I had a significant oil leak, Ming’s Auto repair let me drop my car off that night after work and they were great in communicating, they emailed and texted me a picture and the estimated cost the next morning. They also found that my transmission fluid was leaking and I had that fixed too. There were also some other things that the recommended that that I should fix but at later times if I wanted to address them, which is good to know. I needed the oil leak and transmission fluid work done as soon as possible. They were able to fix those issues in one day so I was able to pick my car up after work since they’re open until 6pm. I posted on here two months ago about my poor experience at this shop after being a loyal customer years. After indicating in that review that the mechanical work was likely sound, it felt necessary to return and correct that earlier review -- Within less than a month of having the car repaired, I had to find an alternate shop to have the Tire pressure system re-calibrated (for the repair that I did not authorize yet was expected to pay for) and within the same (less than a month) period the repairs I did authorize and pay for (fixing the air conditioner) had ceased to work. It is frustrating that the level of service has declined significantly so that I had to find a new mechanic in such a short time from having the car serviced at this shop. I would not recommend the shop as it is operating now. Services: Tires, Air conditioning

Ming's did a great job on a recent repair I needed. They gave me a quote and the repairs cost less because one of the items in the quote was not needed. I saved ~$500. I would trust them with any work to my car. Communications about the repairs are done in email so you can see exactly what needs to be done and how much it will cost. Everyone there is super nice. I have been a loyal customer of Ming’s since I moved to Boston in 2012 and appreciate his service and skill. My latest experience was disappointing and stressful - the mechanical work likely is very sound, however the communication from the shop To ask for consent and provide an estimate was scattered and excessive. When given and estimate on repairs and asked to confirm the work, the estimate was incomplete and appeared to be roughly 300. There was a frantic email regarding a change in part that had to be replaced and calibrated with no additional info on cost or update to the original estimate. This email was not seen (and therefore not confirmed to continue with the work) yet the shop moved forward without updates on cost. When I picked up the car, with the work already completed, the actual cost came to 726. I was blindsided, shocked, and embarrassed having been estimated less than half that cost and not seeing any update between my consent and the work being completed and was not prepared to make that payment. When we brought this to the shops attention, the worker became awkward and wanted to resolve the issue without his boss knowing. The worker did lower the cost…allegedly paying cash out his own pocket…, but repeatedly asked me not to tell the boss about it….that it was “between us”. I have trusted Ming for over a decade but this whole exchange left me feeling cheated, taken advantage of, and stuck in an incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional situation. I was allowed to pay half at pick up and the rest when I was next paid, but the stress , frustration, and discomfort on top of the entirely unexpected cost, makes me feel as if I can’t return to this shop. Had the shop confirmed the excessive increase in cost (from the ~300 expected when we first spoke to the 726 final cost) and waited for my response on next steps, I would not have had them make that repair. The car was working without that specific repair and I had made it clear that keeping the cost low was important for me at this time. Ming’s work has always been sound, but the experience working with this shop, after 10 years of being a customer, makes it so I am unable to return with confidence.
