When homemade ice cream actually seems homemade it's a real pleasure to gobble some down on a warm summer night, feeling the molten icecream run down your hand and forearm while taking chunks of the coffee-with-nut-sprinkles-cone. Lucky it's next to a relatively clean harbor so you can lie on the dock and rinse your hands and face off afterwards. Terrific experience ..

Where to begin... the ice cream is home made, and it shows in the taste and mouth feel. Creamy, delicious and in a variety of familiar and new favors. Inasmuch as I loved the variety and quality of the ice cream, I loved the portions more. Seriously, a kiddie sized portion would be enough for a hungry adult. I think for the price, the portions are beyond generous. But my favorite aspect of Captain Dusty's is the service. The 3 people behind the counter were friendly, courteous and accommodating in a way that totally made our experience. A young man brought us wet wipes, without being asked, so we could clean up a bit. One of the employees also struck up a conversation with my wife and daughter, and it made it feel like the kind of place you would return to again and again - where you are remembered as a customer, and appreciated. Manchester-by-the-Sea has become our favorite New England seaside town, and Captain Dusty's is a major contributor to that sentiment. 100/10. It's that good.

Found my way here with friends after the beach. This is top notch! Also for a place that was (seemingly) run by high school and college kids, it was so fast, clean and organized. Speaks volumes about management and how they train. More importantly: the ice cream is awesome

hat's a beach day without ending it with some delicious ice cream? This small ice cream shop is the epitome of everything you would want for the final touch on a good beach day -or for a nice post dinner walk. They have many delicious flavors, great sundaes and shakes, and is right across from a park with many benches to sit and watch the boats come in and out of the harbor. They have other locations to as well in the North Shore area.

Open seasonally, Captain Dusty's in Manchester is a must visit for anyone spending time on the North Shore. With a wide variety of creamy flavors and dairy-free options too, this cute little ice cream shack is a delight. It is a little on the pricey side, but isn't too much considering the cost levels of the surrounding area. Don't expect particularly friendly service; it's mostly high school students who work here and they prefer to simply get you your ice cream and send you on your way. Nevertheless, the taste is great and Masconomo Park across the street is idyllic.

Great ice cream and very generous portion sizes! Highly recommend Mississippi mud (coffee with Oreo) and black raspberry. If you're feeling a frappe, go with the extra thick! This particular location is great because it's a short walk from singing beach. What's better than a day at the beach and great ice cream! It's not inexpensive but you get what you pay for in quantity and quality.
