Awful all around. I had a package that was unable to be delivered because it had the wrong address- it didn’t. It had my CORRECT address- I even confirmed with the seller. They then completely disposed of my package that day. So I’m out $50 because your driver couldn’t deliver to a correct address.

Are they ever open until their posted times - it’s so hard to get there before 4 on work days and even they sometimes isn’t early enough. Ridiculous I always need to go to another city to actually be able to go to a mail counter!

Rudest post office I have ever been to. That guy needs to take some anger management classes or something.

They must have fired the old staff after a lady posted a TikTok about her experience and I believe she called USPS corporate or something to complain, when I have been in there the last few weeks, there is brand new prople besides Janine, that i have noticed. Still have packages that end up lost in the mail and I keep getting the same mail from old residents, I always write NO LONGER AT THIS ADDRESS, you'd think they'd get the point and correct it? I have mixed feeling about the Monticello post office at this point. Usually just drop off prepaid packages and don't interact much, when I do interact everyone has been super rude. 🤷♀️ The shipping rates have skyrocketed even for small packages. $8 to mail a book now? Used to be $3.95. Cheaper to just have that person buy the book on Amazon or thrift books at this point. Edited: went in today to ship a package that came with a prepaid label. It weighed more than the label stated, I didn't add anything, used the same box it came in, all I did was slap the prepaid label on. Not my fault the label weight is wrong. Have never been treated so rudely there before until today. Jeanine usually is nice, today WOW. 😒

Brought in a laptop to return. Original shipper was FedEx. The local post office is closer to home. Brought package in when they opened and the lobby was empty. Staff acted like shipping the package was an inconvenience. Would not help tape the final box closed despite a good packaging job. Literally 12 inches of tape. However they only sell the tape. They also only sell the label. No wonder the usps is having issues with customer retention when the customer service is so terrible. I paid for the label and left. Will drive out of the way to visit a FedEx or UPS in the future. I agree with other reviews to improve service and staff or just close the office.

I am very disappointed with the Monticello mail carrier. Recently our mail box has vandalized but our mail carrier has still been putting our mail in the box with it raining. When its condition isn’t made for mail at all. I have been picking up my mail off the ground wet. I went in letting the post office know my mailbox can’t be used also. You can clearly see my mailbox isn’t in condition for mail why would put it in there?? I hope they take care of this.

I had to call the cops on the worker at this post office. They are rude and lie. I dropped a package off there and they lost it. The person there called me a Freud and said I didn't bring it there. I called the cops there. The next day I had a call from them saying they found my package and it was in Vermont and it was supposed to go to California. So if you want to be treated good I wood not go here. I would recommend going anywhere else. They are the worst post office in us. Sad when we have to go to FedEx or ups just to be sure your items get where you want them without a problem. Good luck all!!!!

Visited here on a Saturday morning, and was amazed at the friendliness & general positivity with which their two employees treated patrons. Definitely not what I would have expected in a busy post office with a line out to the door. Excellent & efficient customer service, even with guests who were not returning the friendliness or gratitude. Quite impressive!

Everyone I have worked with has been very friendly. My issues are that: I am consistently getting mail for other people in my PO box. This includes the key to open the parcel boxes, which are then addressed to different people and box numbers. This is very concerning with the holidays because I then wonder how much of my mail is being put in the wrong box. Not everyone will return a package. My other issue is the lack of staff. I have waited in line for 45 minutes because there is always only one person working, during lunch rush, weeks and now days before Christmas. I feel so bad for the one working because they get a lot of frustrated patrons. I really hope when the new office opens that these thing are no longer concerns.
