Today was actually the first time that I have eaten there. The food was excellent, the homemade chocolate cream pie was awesome, as was the taco salad. I will be eating there again.

I LOVE this small town cafe & grill! I had their hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious! Lots of great beef, gravy and potatoes. My dad had their sloppy joe special which had two nice sloppy joes and fries. My mom enjoyed their creamy potato soup and my fiancé had their BLT. Their cheese curds are the best!!!! But what was truly delicious was their strawberry rhubarb pie…by far the best I’ve ever had! Wonderful waitress and a great cook made the experience very delightful. I sure wish Los Angeles had restaurants like the Vining Cafe! I miss small rural town cooking! Thank you for a great meal and reminding me why I love coming home to the Midwest!

Amazing 4th of July buffet!! Amazing service and fast! Everything homemade-including desserts with real whipped cream!! Highly recommend if you like home cooking for a great price!!!

The Chef Salad was great. My husband had the Prime Rib sandwich. He said "it is the best"! Also if anyone wants/likes rhubarb custard pie, that is my favorite, soooooo good. Best around! Vicki did a great job serving us. One other time, my husband and I had the "all you can eat spaghetti/salad/garlic toast, their special on Wednesday evenings. It was great. The server, a young school gal, did an excellent job, she was so attentive. Great worker. Give the Vining Grill a try, you won't be disappointed.

Good comfort food. Staff was nice. If you want to know what's going on in town just stop by for a cup of coffee and a conversation. Then wonder about town for all the sculptures. Good time to go is during the watermelon festival.
