Older guy that works their does not take too kindly to minority customers. Was practically stared out of the store. Nothing is worth taking that kind of abuse.

I found the staff very helpful, both in their proactive attention and in their very knowledgeable wine recommendations. I found the prices extremely reasonable, in many cases lower than the beer/wine big box stores in the area. You can shop here with confidence.

I knew the selection was good so I stopped by to pick up 2 good bottles of wine to thank a friend with. The gentleman who helped me did so within 5 seconds of me being in the store. He asked several questions, made a couple of recommendations and we agreed on the bottles. I was going to be shipping the wine to my friend out of state and he offered that service immediately. The total price for the wine, service and shipping was reasonable and he took the boxing and shipping tasks off of my long list.

Decent liquor store. Good selection of beer / cider. Their wine selection leaves something to be desired. The wine prices seem to be a little higher than normal. That seems to be the norm for Montclair.

I've been in this store 2x in the past 2 months. Both times, no one acknowledged me, nor did they bother to offer any assistance in finding a wine. This past time, there were three people behind the counter chatting. I was clearly looking for something specific and ultimately found it myself. Only when I was heading to the counter to pay for it did someone half-assed say "hi" and it wasn't even the girl checking me out. She was there last time too and, I have to say, kind of a sad-sack. Other than poor service, they are conveniently located and have a very nice selection of wines. If there was a store next door with fewer choices and better service I'd actually go there instead.

Good overall wine selection. The "rated over 90 priced under $20" rack is always a good place to start and I've had many good bottles from this rack. Beer selection is the best in the area, with a good mix of known quality beers along with rare beers for those who are looking to be a bit more adventurous. Liquor selection is average.
