Nothing like Metro Meat Market! We lived in Forest Hills before we moved a year ago and this was our go-to for meat always. Their marinated skirt steak was our favorite by far, although we never had the ribs. They are hospitable and answered all of my questions, even recently when I called from thousands of miles away. We miss this place and hopefully we'll be back one day!

My first time here...the service was fine and the butcher did a great job of slicing and tenderizing the chicken...the higher price than grocery stores was well worth it...I will be happily back.

Thanks Mitch and company! The staff is very accommodating and super friendly. Wish this place was a little closer to where I live because I want to try their home made stuff. They have a variety of meat and it all looks nice and fresh. Was able to get ahold of the elusive 4 bone beef rib racks and will be smoking this on Sunday. Gonna make alot of people happy! Will definitely come back when possible.

Love these guys. Great homemade foods, very fresh, reasonably price. Fabulous cuts of meat. So friendly from the minute you walk in the door. Would never go anywhere else.

Quality provisions, excellent side dishes and prepared foods, friendly service, Mitch and Co. have it all down. Been a longtime customer, and they never disappoint. My challenge is to try to stick to what I need to buy, because I will usually get more than that. Oh well, all my problems should be this difficult. Bravo gentlemen, and thank you for being there.

I happenstanced onto this really very beautifully stocked 《Boucherie a l'Italienne 》 while meandering along Metropolitan Avenue one day after forwarding a return on a piece of merchandise I purchased on eBay just over at the nearby Post Office. Inside this absolutely neatly eye-appealing meat market I discovered, were a wider selection of superb comstocks and olive oils, pastas, canned goods, Italian breads, cookies, and pastries, fresh produce and fresher vegetables, etc ! All very well-priced. And, of course of an outstanding high quality ! Unbelievable. The owners pride themselves also on the smorgasbord of takeout options priced [per the pound]. Freshly cooked. Gourmet. And, all the fixings needed for a really great meal. Lunch-ons or for dinnertime. Holidays menus are an optional included too. The counter guys are the Best. A+ great crew behind their glass cased delicatessen entrees and meat products that range from Boar's Head cold cuts to everything else you would want to cookout or BBQ your-self. Like steaks, hot dogs, and every cut of meat there is including poultry choices (duck, turkey, chicken). No pheasant, yet. But enough ! Unbelievably a wonderful 'NaBe' spot that's super popular with the home crowd ! Easy to find. And great when you don't or [can't] slave over a hot stove to cook a meal. I tried their "broccoli rabe sauté" with olive oil and whole garlic. Simply scrumptious. Tasty. And super-healthy. When it comes down to other items like the deep fried cauliflower -- not bad. A little saltier than they look. But definitely a great side dish if not, a whole meal. Insofar as their entree like the eggplant parmigiana ... if you've been to Milano, it definitely tastes different. Here the saltiness pervaded the entire course. I'm not sure if it's a butter issue. Yet if one were to cook the sauce down myself, less sodium is better than more. Or, by seasoning fresh herbs instead it would enhance the dish altogether. I tried to correct the seasoning to no avail ... it was tough to change the taste. Otherwise, it's just a really great place to begin with if you enjoy cooking Italian style etc Or love really solid fresh meat. A super place to come buy -- hint, hint. Especially during the general holidays. Lots of Special Sales going on and not far from Home !

Mitch and Pete are the best. Remember your name. Great customer service. This isn't the place to look for a cheap deal, this is where you go for high quality meat and well trimmed steaks. Competitively priced. Not a discount but not overpriced. Great salads and prepared foods. Chicken cutlets are really good, homemade turkey and roast beef are far better than anything you can get from a brand. Would recommend to anyone living in, or visiting the area.
