In 2016 the villages of Warwick, Greenwood Lake, Monroe and West Milford needed a good Mexican restaurant. When a building became available, Carlos Morales and his business partner, Luis Barajas, put together an awesome menu of authentic Mexican meals and in May opened their family restaurant, Mexicanzingo. Being so close to the New York and New Jersey Greenwood Lake beaches, as well as the Mountain Lakes Road beaches in Monroe, summer take-out is a large part of the restaurant’s summer business.

We ordered chicken with salsa verde and tacos. We loved the chicken perfect meal for a person however we found the tacos a little towards the dry side. Also to note tacos are sold per piece. Don’t assume you get three tacos for that price :p Our experience might have been a 4 star simply because it was a delivery and not freshly made and served. Will definitely try to dine in next time.

Very small 3 table restaurant, extensive menu, clean, loved the hand-painted furniture. Food was very good, everything seemed to be made in-house. Excellent fish tacos, shrimp tacos, tamales, burritos, and salsa. Would come again if near the North end of the lake.

The restaurant is small and packed full of fun, colorful paintings on the tables and chairs. The food hit it out of the park with everything we tried, especially the beef tacos and chimichangas. The service was very friendly though a little slow, but it was a super busy Saturday night so it was understandable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a hearty, flavor-packed meal.

Just Tried this place for the first time and WOW. The shrimp soup was out of this world delicious and the fish tacos were cooked perfectly. Will definitely be ordering from here regularly.

The food was good, the service was very good as well but the prices were a bit outrageous. It was nearly $20 a plate per person not including drinks. My kids were still hungry after bc the portions were not very big. I would certainly like to eat there again but I won't be going back due to the cost. It was $70 for 3 people and 2 left hungry.
