I'd never go again. We took our parents there for Christmas eve dinner, and we're embarrassed that we did. The long service and mediocre food reflected poorly on us. Meals are about 50 per person. And for that price you expect great service and good food. We had to ask for correct silverware twice, we ended up just asking for a pitcher of water because the whole table had finished our water and they didn't notice. We ordered wine right away, but then the waiter left, and didn't take any other drink orders. It took them 20 minutes to bring it out. Then we could order regular drinks. We were disappointed that soft drinks came out in these mini glass bottles. So, those were drank quickly and preference of drink had to be abandoned. There was no way the service could keep up with bringing out 8oz bottles of coke. Of our 6 person party, we all felt "meh" about the dishes. The presentation of the food was sloppy. I had the duck, I did think it was good though, even though bits of it were charred. Most disappointing was the poor service. It took 45 minutes for the appetizers to come out, 30 minutes for the salads to come out after that. And the food took another 30 minutes. All in all, Casso Basso is a poor restaurant masquerading as a high end Italian place. You'll be sorry you went.

My aunt and uncle have been eating here for decades. They always take my family here when we visit, and the food is in no way worth eating. It isn’t gross or anything, just not tasty or flavourful AT ALL. Then, over the last few years, the service has cratered. Even my aunt and uncle wont go anymore after they were ignored for over an hour. It was 30 minutes before anyone stopped at the table to order drinks and another 30 before the drinks arrived. Wine, which you can just pour into a glass in 20 seconds. After they got their drinks it was ANOTHER 30 minutes before they got to order food which never arrived. My whole family walked out and the host tried to make them pay the check including the food they never got. The audacity of running a business that is such utter trash. If I ran my business this way I would expect the town to have me shut down.

We had a great meal here. We ordered soft shell crabs as an appetizer since it was the special or one of the specials. They were delicious. I asked the waitress what was one of their favorite dishes and she recommended that bronzino. As you can see from the picture it is huge and it was delicious. You could actually split that for two people. My husband ordered the half chicken on someone's recommendation and that was good also. You should tell them not to split the breast because it will keep the chicken breast moist. Because he didn't tell them this he said the breast was a little dry. Salads come with your dinner and they were very good also. They had a gentleman there singing and he was great. We actually got up and danced to a Sinatra tune because he was so good. They have an outside back area that you can eat at also which is very nice. Anyway i would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Westhampton area.

Found this hidden gem and absolutely LOVED it! Authentic Italian food and romantic atmosphere. The owner was very, very nice and the food was delicious. The stuffed artichoke on the special menu was out of this world. A bit pricey but would definitely come back for a social occasion!!!

Ordered take out from here yesterday. I had the porterhouse steak medium rare and it was one of the beat steaks I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly in a delicious sauce. Kudos to the chef on duty last night! September 3,2020. The others has more standard Italian fare (chicken and veal parm) which were solid.

We had such a great dinner outside on the balcony overlooking the creek. We were a group of 10 and still had perfect service. Our food was amazing (the Branzino was heaven on a plate) and the staff was so inviting. Can't wait to go back!

Bit late with this review but here we go. Went here in December pre-pandemic. There were three of us, and even though there was only one occupied table in the whole section, they seated us directly next to them. The tables were really close together, so much so that we were practically bumping elbows with the people behind us. Maybe that’s part of the vibe of this place; they want the patrons to be close and chummy or something, but I was not a fan. Of course, I’m sure it’s totally different now since covid... Anyway. Before long we asked to move to a different table, because not only did we not like sitting on top of other people, but it was absolutely freezing where we were. I thought maybe we were too close to the front door or a drafty window, but even after they sat us in a different wing of the restaurant we were still cold. I don’t know if they have heat in that place, but if they do they need to either turn it on or turn it up, or both. We kept our jackets on the entire time we were there. A bit uncomfortable. And when a new group of diners came in, guess where they were seated - right on top of us again. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the woman who was helping us told us there was only one guy in the kitchen and he was doing all the cooking for everyone that was there. They were only a handful of tables that were occupied, but with just one guy doing the food we had to wait nearly 2 hours before it was ready. It was good but not something I would wait two hours for again. Obviously it was off-season so I’m assuming things are different in the warmer months. The place was pretty cool though with a lot of history.

I have never written a review before , but our meal last night was so delicious that I had to share it with the world. We asked for biscotti for desert and the waitress told us if we were willing to wait the chef would make it for us. I can honestly say I’ve never had biscotti anything close to what was served to us. It was warm and crispy on the outside with a sweet cake on the inside and it came with mounds of fresh whipped cream on the side. The restaurant might look kitschy but the food is outstanding.

Everything was Absolutly perfect till it came time to settle the bill. We had a large group, and wanted the bill split. Wait staff put everything on one tab, and when asked to separate had a very rude reaction from who I am thinking is the owners wife. It was too much to ask to each pay separate I guess!?!? Then had rude comments made about tipping before we even got our individual tabs. Food was amazing!! Steak was done perfectly! Dessert was amazing! They even threw in fried zucchini which was so nice. Just make sure you specify if you want your bills made separate when you order.
