So I just stopped at Robert's Auto in South Hadley and received a red rejection sticker for ball joints and tie rods. The kid doing the inspection checked the ball joints turning the tire left to right which gave a little movement due to the natural play in the steering column or the pitman or idler arms. So as a former mechanic I brought my car home jacked it up and checked everything for myself and found zero play when you grab the wheel top and bottom and wiggle back and forth LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO. Also there was a small spot of rust on the passenger rear inside door panel and he failed me for that as well. The hole was nowhere near as big when I got there as it was when I left which means somebody punctured the whole worse. This place will clearly fail anyone for anything possible to get the money and not even care about customer satisfaction. I don't know if it was just the kid that was working by himself who also got a pretty good attitude towards me when I questioned anything that he did or if it's the place itself but if you have an older car like mine (2002) I would not recommend this place to anybody else at this point.

To Donny Roberts Our inspections are on camera..so if necessary..have them reviewed to see if we punctured the hole in your body panels “more.” Your left outer tie rod has movement, and your upper ball joint is bad..again..both on the drivers side, as your inspection report says. Normally, if all that is wrong is “windshield washers and a torn wiper,” we gladly add fluid, for free, and offer to replace said torn wiper. Lastly..your vehicle does not come equipped with said idler, or pitman arm. We’re sorry for said bad experience, but can assure you your inspection was done properly, and is all reviewable based on camera footage, by the commonwealth. If you would like to challenge said inspection..the proper forms are available at the mass dot website. Thank you. -the inspector.

Went this place back in September state inspection . One of my frog light was dead and they fix it without charging me extra penny for it. Was busy day for them and thy made a pleasent experience. Defenetly i recommend this place

So far, brakes repaired here, awesome job and not overpriced. When my tire failed early from Firestone and they didn't want to honor the warranty claiming it was from under inflation, the mechanic here was able to verify that no, the tires were just rotted out way ahead of their life and I got Firestone to comp me new tires. They gave me a great referral to a body shop when my roommate slid into a porch one icy night, and I've had plenty of minor repairs on my other halfs ancient Yaris. The *ONLY* potential issue is the inspection people have been giving the guy who runs the inspection station a hard time on tints and perfs. I previously thought the guy running it just didn't know the sub paragraphs and special exceptions to the law because perf is legal as long as your window is FACTORY tinted, but the inspection guy actually got the RMV head on the phone for me, and yeah it seems like they're just cracking down on "unless you can prove it's a factory tint". So I drove ALL the way to the inspection place next to the Chevy Dealership and when the same question came up, luckily they could confirm my tint was factory. But literally ANYTHING else, any other situation, this is my go-to place first. There's a reason they're always busy. It's hard to find a mechanic in the area that doesn't jack up the prices because the college kids don't know better. This is one of the few fair places I've found in 10 years living in Western Massachusetts.

Best, honest work around. My 2014 Dodge van drives as smoothly as it did the day I drove it off the lot. I regret not doing previous repairs to my 2007 Nitro here. I won't make that mistake again. Robert and his crew have earned my loyalty.

Came to the shop for the first time for an inspection sticker. I called in the morning and got the answering machine, didn’t leave a message and was called back within 5 minutes. Inspection service was very timely, the workers are polite and have good knowledge. Will definitely be returning for inspections and maintenance in future!

My husband and I recently moved to Massachusetts from Louisiana, so we needed somewhere to have inspection done. There was a little wait but once it was my turn I was in and out in just under 20 minutes. The staff was quick, kind, and personable. Definitely would recommend and will visit again.

I went here for my State inspection. They were very thorough. Explained why my car failed. Showed me what things were wrong, and took the time to explain so I could understand and explain to my mechanic. Told me if my mechanic couldn’t /wouldn’t fix, bring the car back to them and they would fix the issues. I’ve never had an State inspection done so professionally and trust what was being showed me. Very efficient and worth the wait.
