Disgusting, cold food, eggs dry and over cooked. The new owner is cheap, goes around and turns off the stove while the food is cooking to save a dime. Everything went up in cost when it was bought and is now overpriced, everything is +$2-3 more expensive here than the BP down the road— save your time and drive an extra minute.

New owners....just tried supper there and nothing like it use to be. Won't go back again. Bring the old cooks back!!! Food had no taste, slaw is dry and no taste. Lemonade had no sugar. People are friendly but friendly folks don't fill my belly.

Pleasant surprise there was gas here! Old school place, pleasant staff inside and outside. Young lady directing traffic to the pumps! Goes to show you my first reason was picking up Amazon package now I filled my tank and got 5 gallons for lawnmower.

I've been doing business here for 15+ years and will continue to do so for that and more. This isn't just a gas station or a grill, this is THE gas and grill. It's family. Without it, this part of Selma NC would not be what it is today. The culture and history wouldn't be as rich and interesting without this cornerstone landmark. When you walk into Popeye's you are walking into a part of Southern Living at it's finest. The people are wonderful. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can't come to Selma and not stop by Popeye's on fish fry Friday to get a plate, best fish you ever ate. 5 stars? You bet!

Not anything you would expect from what appears to be a gas station and convenience store along a two lane highway just outside of Selma N.C. This place was recommended by a friend that knows how much I love seafood. I was not disappointed and they are just ten minutes or so from my house! The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly (lightly fried the way I like it). The portions were larger than expected and prices very reasonable. The sides were excellent to include hush puppies that were sweet and light. The waitress and kitchen staff were friendly and everything appeared to be very clean and in order. The menu choices included catfish, oysters, shrimp, flounder, and more (all fresh). The other menu items were hotdogs, hamburgers, and your typical grill items. This place is old school and small but offers as much or more than larger restaurants. I was very impressed with the food, portions, and prices and would have paid more for the double combo of oysters and catfish I ordered. In addition the orders came out fast. This place appears to have a strong local following and for very good reason. I think other people should know about it! Call to check their hours as they are not always open in the evening but we dined on Friday where they close at 8:00PM.

Very bad service the man that works there always has a bad attitude and he actually cussed at my grandmother for taking to long counting her change. She recently had brain surgery. Don't shop here.
