We absolutely love Macray's. The food is always fresh and delicious, the servers are friendly and helpful, and the owners are very personable. We celebrated at Macray's when we found out we were expecting a son this fall and several people stopped by to ask about it and shared stories. We've been back numerous times since! We highly recommend the clam cakes, calamari, baked cod, and any dessert on offering. I've also had the Del's Vodka Lemonade many times and it's a delight. Although they specialize in seafood, we also loved their steak dishes. See photos.

Came down from Bristol. Visiting family. The photos on the website indicated that they served food on plates like a normal restaurant however on arrival this place is only outdoor seating and everything is served on paper plates and such. Had the chowder and clam cakes. Was good. My aunt had the lobster roll. It fell apart from all the butter but the lobster was good. The entertainment was neat. A man playing some drum thing to music from his iPad. Will not return. Do not recommend if you are trying to sit down to a nice meal with your family. More of a on the go fast seafood type situation.

We drove over an hour to get here since my wife grew up in New Bedford and has fond memories of a Macray's from long ago. Supposedly there's a direct connection between the two, but the food here was pretty sad. I had clam chowder that was just OK. It wasn't loaded with clams, and not nearly as good as Legal Seafood or Boston Chowder Co. soup. My wife specifically remembered their clean cakes, so that's what I ordered for my "main" course. I was expecting loads of clams just held together with the minimum of filler. What I got could most charitably be called fritters, but they were 90% filler and 10% clams (maybe less). Then they were deep fried, but instead of crispy on the outside and light and tasty on the inside they were just heavy and soggy with oil. There were only 3 tables in use, so that wasn't the issue. My wife had the fried clams (I don't love fried clams - I do love clams, but I grew up eating clam "strips" at Howard Johnson's and Nathan's Famous, not the full belly clams you get in New England. But, I digress...). Her comment was that the clams were "Ok", but she expected them to be crispy, and they weren't. All in all, it was certainly not worth the drive - we can get better clams and other similar food within a few minutes of home.

Fresh and delicious seafood! We have been a few times and it's always been great. The kids love the burgers and chicken strips too.

Nice outdoor seating area, we tried the fried clams , golden batter not to greasy , clean clams not sandy at all. Clams where chewy and overdone , IMO they seemed steamed then fried . Which results in hard chewy necks and empty belly’s . Basic seafood steak fries . Decently priced . Will go back to try fish and chips

Loved McCrays Fried Clams. I stopped by today, 6/23 ordered up a pint of Clams and a 1/2 of Clam Cakes. The Cakes Were Incredibly Greasy And Were So Salty They Were inedible. The Clams Were Tasteless And Rubbery. Has there been a line change? For the money I paid plus tip, That This Food had to be tossed into the Trash Is A Shame. This Whole Experience Was very frustrating And disappointing .

ALWAYS great fish & chips; light, crispy batter, nice fresh white fillet, not greasy, beautifully cooked. Generous portion always enough for my wife and me to share. Have been coming here for years and never disappointed. Great service. Have to laugh at negative reviews, because we KNOW good seafood, and Macray's is among the best. Bruce and Carol.

Food was good and fresh. Wasn’t too busy so not a long wait. A gentlemen went to the 2 tables on each side of me and my spouse and asked how everything was and skipped over us… Crossed direct paths with my server and the gentlemen again on our way out without being acknowledged with a simple thank you.

Ever since Horton's Seafood closed, in E. Providence (2014?), I have been looking for a place that does the Fried Clams RIGHT. Finally found it! Tender whole belly and yum! All of their fried seafood is delicious. My new favorite is the Fish Nuggets. VERY tender, small fish bites that are solid fish, and not greasy at all! The stuffies are a good balance of clams, chourico and breading, with a good spice blend. My wife and I each had a bowl of chowder, and shared the "Sampler". We will next be trying the baked dinners. Someone at the next table had a baked fish dish that looked very good. We are fast becoming "Regulars"

Fish &chips is very very good. Had to order 2nds to go. Lobster blt also tasty and good amount of lobster meat. Plenty of fries and a bar to go along with it. Would definitely stop by every time in area.
