Clean good meat.. high prices

Helenwood foods has some great qualities. They have great meat products. They have a good selection of groceries. Here is the bad if you buy anything other than the store brand, it's expensive. Some items are cheaper at a gas station. It's still my first choice for meat no matter what.

Small town prices but when I couldn't find what I wanted at Walmart seemed like it was worth the stop!

Helenwood Foods IGA is a small "Mom and Pop" grocery store. It is in an area that services a community that otherwise would have to travel almost 15 minutes to find another grocery store. The prices reflect that "convenience". However, because it is ONLY a small grocery store, if you need to purchase something quickly, you can run in and out without having to deal with the "hike" it takes to just grab milk or bread when going to the Walmart Super Center. I have gladly paid the higher price, just to keep from having to go to the Walmart. Another thing to consider is that if you live in the same area at Helenwood Foods IGA then given the current price of gas (4.80 a gallon for regular) it probably balances out.

Great little hometown store! If you don't want the hassle of traffic and like a smaller business atmosphere this is the place! Friendly staff and a good selection of the things you want at fair prices. Easy access and plenty of parking!

Clean and neat store. Nice staff. Although small, this store allows for '1 stop shopping' on most of my trips. Recent changes have expanded selection.
