I had a small job with Southern Iron Works for some iron stair railings. I retained their services on 12/2/2020 and they completed the project on 12/17/2020 which was ahead of scheduled. I was originally promised a date of installation of 12/23/2020. I had no problems with either the quality of the work or the installation. Everything was as contracted for.

Wednesday, August 8, 2018: No money yet. Friday, July 6, 2018: Another 2 weeks have passed since Mike Thomas made his last "promise to pay". His promise was that he would send us a check for a payment of $1,000.00 to be received by us THIS WEEK. It is Friday, our mail has already been delivered today and we have not received a single penny from this man. We are now seven (7) months that he has held our money with nothing more than empty commitments. We have phoned numerous times, sent many text messages and Mike Thomas does not answer his phone, return calls or reply to text messages. Basically, as others have referred to him, he lies. He lied to us about our project, his process, his date to start and complete and he continues to lie about returning our money. It is a weekly lie with him and without any remorse at all for the situation he creates for honest folks trying to take care of their homes. No honesty, no integrity on the part of Mike Thomas. Tuesday, June 26, 2018: Still no response from Mike Thomas to any of our attempts to contact him. He is keeping our money, which he has not earned, and will not even contact us to make arrangements to return our money. We paid him in good faith 1/3 deposit and then we accepted his return our money "on Friday" on good faith to now approaching THREE (3) months that he has continued to keep our money and will not even respond to our messages. Look at the posts on Facebook about his "quality" and "Integrity" from others. Monday, June 11, 2018: It has now been over 2 months since Mike Thomas suggested we take our job to someone else to finish because he was so far behind due to his over-commitment. At that time he agreed to return our full deposit of $2,600.00. We have not seen a penny of our money and we have had to incur expenses to completely re-do-start-over the bad work he did as well as completion of our job. I have photos of parts he welded that were broken off before arriving at my home the day his employees returned our materials on April 5, 2018. We have attempted WEEKLY to contact Mike and he ignores our text and phone calls. But, ask anyone he deals with - this is the same story. The last contact with him on May 18, 2018, he again committed to send our money (through his attorney) that following Friday, May 25, 2018. No money and absolutely NO response from him to what his intentions are in returning our money that he is holding without cause or justification. He has now had use of OUR money Since December 2, 2017. Friday, May 18, 2018: Just left Southern Iron Works shop for another missed commitment by Mike Thomas to deliver the money he owes us. He was not there. He did not respond to any of my texts messages from Thursday, but we drove the 25 miles, one way, to meet with him in hopes that he would make good on this commitment. He did not. But he did call after I sent him a text to let him know we were at his shop; very angry and telling us the same old story; he will pay us when he gets some checks in. So he is still holding our money without cause or justification. Less than a star, but FB won't post without selecting at least one. As of this date, Mike Thomas has not refunded our money. He has made continuous commitments for next week, next week, week after next, and so on since April 5th, 2018. He does not return text messages or phone calls, but very unprofessionally IGNORES all attempts to contact for a time and place for him to refund our money - money that he is holding that does not belong to him, that he has not earned but in fact has cost us more money than he is refunded. I saw him Wednesday a week ago and tried to talk with him but he would not stop to talk nor even look me in the face. After my continued asking when he was going to refund our money, he committed to tomorrow, Friday May 18, 2018. As of this writing, he has not responded with a time to meet to give us back our money. This has been his mode of operation since day one - commitment without time and place, and then he does not respond to set the time. More to come after tomorrow.

Unprofessional as a business. When a customer calls, there should be common decency to get back in touch with the customer. If u can't do that, shut the business down.

I have been calling Mike Thomas for months, but he will not return my calls. He put up old iron railing instead of new, took my $2500 deposit, and left me with iron that is rusting. He gave me a contract stating he would stand behind his work and make needed repairs. He has mistreated so many people, and he continues to take advantage of people.

Stopped in to look at some iron works. They were closed but I peeked inside through the windows. The craftsmanship looked amazing. I would stop in again and speak to an associate. Lots of parking, but not easily seen from the main road. You have to know where you are going. Open 7-5 on Saturday by appointment only.

porch and banister railings. The job took forever. Poor communication, unprofessional.. Multiple, multiple attempts to pass of inferior work. Only with persistence and continued patience was the job finally completed. Would not use again
